Not today, but tomorrow night I'm on the Hull-Rotterdam ferry for a fortnight meandering across northern Holland, Germany and Denmark, with bike, inflatable kayak, fishing tackle and camera gear. Can't bl**dy wait

Forgot to add anyone stopping in the Derby area around Carsington they offer a minibus service that will literally pick you up and drop you off any where in thr surrounding area. Mrs went into Ashbourne, picked up at campsite and returned for £4. Even take you to pubs and would be great for walkers. Great service offer by the local council. Must be booked in advance is the only rule.

Been many a year since I last went to Foxton Locks.

When I was a lad, my parents had a narrow boat, so went up & down Foxton locks many times.
In recent years we’ve only visited a couple of times, it has recently changed quite a bit, with the addition of a small museum & lots of other improvements.

It was a good run out to test new suspension (-:
