Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

This is the beach road at Swanage. Watch out for the parking if you have adapted your van in any way. Every other sign along the front has an extra bit forbidding parking to vehicles adapted for cooking or sleeping! Parked next to this one as that signage was missing but I’m expecting a friendly letter in the post soon asking for a donation!

There are several car parks you can park in with a camper though

haha, i asked for that - not form coming from that part of the country I was looking for something a bit more specific - perhaps good parking locations...
Oh sorry  we are not from that far south so kind of made it up as we went along. we went down later in the dayto avoid any crowds-

our main aim was a day out but 100% socially distanced.

At Avon beach we pulled up on the roadside right next to the beach( no parking allowed really from April but we stayed by the car as the beach was still busy). There was a car park at the end of the road but it had a 2m height restriction and our van isn’t lowered so we didn’t brave it- how strict are the heights ?

At studland we found a free national trust car park up the top of the cliff

Studland, Swanage, BH19 3AX

on the National trust website it says pay and display but it was free yesterday.

When we arrived at swanage it was really quiet as it always around 6pm so we managed to park on the seafront road (Shore road)with pay and display- however our van isn’t yet converted And the pay and display signs said no parking for any vans with sleeping or cooking facilities. Maybe someone else on here would know somewhere to park in Swanage??

Weymouth would normally be packed but we got there in the evening for fish and chips on the beach- we parked on the beach road

(47 The Esplanade, Weymouth, DT3 6PY)

with the pay and display- there is also a car park near the seafront here but as we managed to get a space on the road we didn’t venture there.

I hope this helps/ makes sense

We couldn’t believe it when we saw that on the sign- are many places like that?

Not today but had a week off so we had breakfast here a few times last week. Beeley Moor near Chatsworth. Walked on the moor through the woods and to the chatsworth hunting tower and back

Jeffrey Hill (again) for Longridge Fell.

Went to the car park at Jubilee Tower, near Lancaster, but it was still closed. So drove through the Trough of Bowland back to here. Still an amazing view.

Well travelling the wrong way on a motorway didn’t exactly feel normal but i know what you mean.
Haha, worryingly I didn’t even notice that you’re on the wrong side of the road! What I did notice was the neat queue with no one bombing it down the right (I guess closed lanes), that’s not normal either

the motorway was closed both directions. I must have just made it on in time, as there were only the cars you can see in the pic behind me. Anyway a patrol car pulled up and started to turn us round one by one to park in that queue then escorted us back to the next junction. Wish I had videod it now.
