Just returned from a trip up Scotland.
Set off last Saturday from West Yorkshire and headed up to our first stop at Loch Lomond. Nice site on the banks of the loch, a bit damp though!
Next day, on the move, drove up to Glencoe, beautiful scenery and tranquil site, very wet though!
Monday morning, had a stop to look at the Harry Potter viaduct at Glenfinnan and continued on to Mallaig to catch the ferry over to the Isle of Skye. Pitched up on a loch side site at Dunvegan. A bit wet though!
Tuesday, followed the coast road clockwise driving some beautiful roads ending up on a tidy site a mile outside Portree. Very wet and windy though!
Wednesday. Drove the eastern side of Skye, taking the Skye bridge back onto mainland Scotland. Drove down to a good site at the foot of Ben Nevis. A bit dryer this time, even saw some sunshine!
This morning, packed up and set a course for home. Nice pleasant drive through more stunning Scottish countryside. Made a stop at Tebay services only to be royally ripped off for two coffees and 2 sausage rolls (greasy!!!) £15 bloody quid! (you can't take the Yorkshire outta the lad
Returned home, first job, get the Henry out and clean the inside of the van. Externally, the van is filthy. Owing to the hosepipe ban it may be multiple buckets of water tomorrow. Can't be having a filthy van sitting on the drive.
Overall, a fantastic trip. Seen some beautiful places and experienced some pretty horrendous weather. Didn't stop the enjoyment of getting out and about on a good road trip in the van though.
