I moved people into that pub about 2012 as I remember. A nightmare of a building to move furniture in!
Good luck with the weather @Bav! The owners are lovely and very helpful. The only site where there was no extra charge for showers but then it was a bit more expensive at £15pp.We're off to Treheli Farm next weekend for a 2 or 3 nights. Weather-wise, we're hoping for the best, but expecting to be disappointed!!!
We were supposed to go there last month, but the weather forecast for that corner of Wales was atrocious so we postponed until this month. As it is a 'pitch up where you like' site I was overuled by swmbo where we should pitch...she wanted maximum sea view..I wanted over by the hedge (more sheltered)...so when we returned to our collapsed awning by the cliff edge and a tent still standing by the hedge there was a 'told you so' moment as you can imagine.....didnt help when the owner turned up on his quad and said its no better over there in reality!
So when you were looking for a van, did you think, "mmm, must be able to find it in a busy car park"Spent the morning at Dunham Massey National trust.

Ha yep and who wants a boring white oneSo when you were looking for a van, did you think, "mmm, must be able to find it in a busy car park"
How did it go? Not put you off I hope?
I think we made the best of it, and things can only get better right!?How did it go? Not put you off I hope?
Not today but last week we did a short tour of North Wales starting on the Llyn Peninsula, Hells Mouth to be precise, eventually lived up to its name!! Beautiful site in a great location....if its NOT windy! Returned after a wet day out in the van to a collapsed awning, but no damage luckily. Was thinking about getting some longer sturdier awning pegs but if they hold then the awning may get damaged...hmmmm.

So the wind had whipped two of guy line pegs out which in turn and in time under the constant battering forced the ridge beam to become disconnected and for the awning to collapse. The awning footprint itself was still firmly pegged to the ground. The air beams had buckled in. We didn't consider adding more air in those hideous conditions and thought best we take it down. What actually happened to your awning? Did any of the airbeams break? If that was a poled awning they would've snapped but trying to picture the damage and what you did afterwards... would adding air help?
You are a stones throw from a £3 / 24 hour privately owned coastal car park with a cafe at the beach and a village pub in strolling distance.Lizards point then a drive around the coast towards mullion. Off to the dreaded st Ives today so hopefully I can find a dog friendly pub to watch the cricket whilst the mrs spends the money in the shops! View attachment 206430View attachment 206431
Hows the weather this weekend at Hells Mouth @Bav ?We were supposed to go there last month, but the weather forecast for that corner of Wales was atrocious so we postponed until this month. The owner was very understanding and helpful.
Tomorrow looks very dodgy tbh (weather warning: Heavy rain likely to cause disruption, particularly to outdoor events... )Hows the weather this weekend at Hells Mouth @Bav ?
