Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

First over night trip for our new van on Sunday - small campsite in Llandegla ahead of a stunning walk (in this weather) up Moel Famau. Trying to work out what we do and don’t need for longer trips and our other kids - but managed to get 2 adults, 1 8 yr old and a labradoodle in 😂

Decided we want an awning which encloses so selling a brand new Debus sun canopy (listed elsewhere)

Can’t wait for next trip now 😎

The sun canopies are great, we love ours! Could you not keep yours in the van for days out when you want some shade but you’re not setting up camp? We don’t have an awning, but I’ve always wondered where I’d keep it if I was travelling with one. Maybe you’ll find a different use case for each?

Yes we could do that - but have just bought an alternative so would be doubling up (and neee to try to recoup some of the costs 😃)

We started with a Vango drive away air awning, but soon realised for one nighters it's too much hassle, so bought a Debus. It's so small and light, in fact if I pack the Vango carefully enough, it fits in the same bag.

A trip through the Cotswolds with a stop off at Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway. It was a chance to have a decent test drive to check out the new turbo, and the van drove faultlessly, was a great smooth drive with plenty of power when needed.

I’m salmon fishing for a few days on the river Spey at Knockando.
I’m pitched at the fishing hut right next to the river.

Aye get some fish in before the midge season, jolly good idea. Them little wee b------

The leaves on the trees are only just starting to form over the last few days here in this particular part of Wales we are usually behind low land areas in England what are the trees doing up there are they still bald or sprouting leaves?

They are starting to sprout now.
It’s been hot during the day but still down to near freezing at night.
No midgies but no salmon either.
There’s some about but they’re thin on the ground.
It’s still early for them.
I will persevere again tomorrow

Just down the road from me - don’t worry I won’t lower the tone by coming & parking my battered & bruised Startline next door 😅😅

I wouldn't worry - there were quite a few tatty T5s, at least one T2, and dare I say it, even a few F***s

Looks great. Can you park overnight? Not worried about getting sea salt over the underside of the van.

No, I think it's only open 10:00 - 18:00. £10 for the day, or season tickets available for £75 (£37.50 for Sefton residents). Ainsdale Beach
There is a spot between Ainsdale and Southport where you can park for free, and there are always a few (rather scruffy looking) van lifers overnighting there. What 3 Words: ///took.money.tiles
