Which? Aftermarket Headlight choices

There are aftermarket lights with a similar LED DRL, but these are halogen lights with LED DRLs rather than the full VW LED headlight upgrade.

A couple of companies sell them, and they’re around £450. Take about an hour to fit it you’ve not done them before but are handy with a spanner.

Sounds good enough for me. Thanks.

I've been looking at buying new headlight units that incorporate the VW/Audi style led Drl's and sequential indicators. I've seen some on the road where the individual LEDs in the drl's are clearly visible (which I dont like) and others where it is more of a continuous strip light. Its difficult to tell from pictures which ones are best, any recommendations on here?

Also which give out the best light as I'm struggling with the standard headlights.

T6 Lights | Transporter HQ

I’ve been using the V2 type for a couple of months and they work well.
There is a thread on this forum covering these lights, you might want to tidy up the electrical loom before you install.

I know this has been covered before but I am so confused despite trawling throught many many threads. So a few simple questions if I may:

.......and thanks for being patient with me.........

Q1 - Apart from the Transporter HQ
VW T6 LED DRL V2 Chrome Headlights with Sequential Indicators are there any other aftermarket alternative halogen upgrade lights that have a better output than the standard halogen lights?

Q2 - If there are have there been any comparisions

Q3 - Do any of them cause issues with the CANBUS or any monitoring systems

I have a 68 plate Caravelle with the standard twin H7 lights in at the moment.

Thanks in advance

I'm weighing up options too. Having read all there is to on here and then reading the rest of the internet, other than OEM LEDs, the only lights out there are the ones sold by THQ.

Travelin lite sell the same lights with LED bulbs in the projectors for £620, so they are an option too. I'm hoping there will be some to look at at Busfest, as whilst they look good in the pictures, I'd like to see them in the flesh. At the moment I'm preferring the V1's as I don't like the look of the LED indicators in the new ones.

I'm also considering fitting bi-xenon projectors into my H7's for a lot less money.

Bulb monitoring can be turned off using VCDS, so warning lights can be overcome whatever you choose.

Thanks for the above. Assuming I change I think I would go for the THQ lights, need to think about whether to go for V1 or V2

Just had a set of the black v2 lights fitted by Transporter HQ. they look good and have better light output than the standard H4 s..... great service from the guys there as well. They had them fitted in 30 mins.

Given you already have H7 lights, I wouldn’t expect the THQ ones to be a big improvement in actual light output. It’s moving from the H4 lights where you get huge improvement.

Hmm. Food for thought.

Love to see an H7 with upgraded bulbs compared to the THQ lights.

Unless there is a big difference I would have to question whether it is worth it. Apart from a better look and LED DRLs

I need to see whether I can find a comparison.

Don’t forget the transporter HQ ones have a projector lens where the VW ones just use the reflector style.
