Which? Aftermarket Headlight choices

My van came with the VW H7 supposedly improved lights. They are still shite compared to the full genuine LED lights.
They should only produce a van with LED lights as standard as most people I know with vans hate the halogen lights either H4 or H7.

anyone got some before and afters with the THQ v3 black drls? debating whether to go for factory led drls with led bulb or aftermarket from thq

If you don't mind fitting a HID kit for the dips in the THQ'S, go for them, the dips as supplied by them are as bad as the standard Vw's, otherwise it's over 2 grand for proper vw LED headlamp units. I fitted a 55w stealth kit to mine which are great and apparently totally illegal, I also got some Lazers for the mains which are awesome. THQ'S were V2 by the way and fitted by them. I had to fit resistors to the Hid's for them to work without throwing a warning light up.

You can upgrade your halogen headlamps(low & high beam) to almost OEM LED standard by installing proper LED lens projectors.
More details below.

Hi all, I’m looking to renew my standard headlights in my T6, I am stuck on what to buy and hope you can help, as you know there are a few sites like van style, Transporter HQ etc to buy from but I’m stuck on who to go with and what the difference is on all the lights, thanks for your help

Budget is normally the deciding factor.
If I had an unlimited budget I'd get genuine VW LED's fitted.
But where you only want to spend sensible money I'd either go for Transporter HQ versions then put either HID's or LED's in the projector lens dipped beam, or I'd try to find a good used set of H7 headlights which are better than H4's.
Use the search function, there are several long threads on the subject.

Most cost-effective option. £90 if you are lucky like me, add £50 for two sets of uprated H7s and a tenner for some whiter DRLs.

Hello all,

not sure if anyone has asked this before, are the Transporter HQ and the Travelin lite DRL head lights from the same manufacture,
looking at getting the Black V2 lights.
any preference if not?
sorry just to add , i currently have the caravelle h7 headlights apparently, not that i would know the difference

can someone please clarify some differences on H7’s and the likes of THQ V3’s please?
I have read through the threads and I’m not totally certain if DRL’s being talked about are with regard to V3’s or the separate ones lower down.
obviously the V3’s have the drl running around the outer bit. I have seen drl’s mentioned for the H7’s, which bit of the light is that? Or are people referring solely to drl’s in the lower grill?

The Drl in the H7's are the sections at the bottom.....you can legally put LED bulbs in those to give a white light although it may through up an error on the bulb monitoring facility. You can switch the bulb monitoring off if it bugs you.

Cheers bud. Got any pics with the drl’s working? Or haven’t you got H7’s?

Pic 1.....Drls on....switch position 0
Pic 2.....Drls and sidelights....switch position 'parking light'

I'd have V1s or V2s. The indicators and DRLs are dim by comparison on the V3s. The aftermarket lights with projector dipped beams allows the fitment of LED or HIDs for even better light output.

Each to their own I guess, I personally prefer a more Oem look and the H7's give me a reasonable light output especially when coded to keep low beam when when high beam activated.
There seems to be a reasonable supply of H7's on ebay and marketplace....expect to pay 100-200 for a used set in various conditions.
