Who’s Mapped Their 150s?!

Most car fuel computers lie like a US president. Suggest you brim the tank, do the drive again, brim the tank again and then do it the sums.

My skoda Octavia vrs estate 170bhp diesel on standard 17" wheels and road tyres would get 40mpg (checked against actual consumption) on a motorway trip at 75 to 80mph when possible (realistically ave was nearer 65mph allowing for traffic). With the extra weight, the poor aerodynamics, the stop start having no effect on economy and the r&r bed etc I am sure my circa 28 to 32 mpg i get on a run in standard 150 tune (remap being considered) is roughly right on the stupid large tyres I have.
I cant see how any other van manufacturer can get much better for the same reasons as above!

Do you all use premium diesel?
I always use premium and have a Revo map

I get much better mpg and fewer regens and it does feel more alive.
Worth the extra pence for me

Might let my local tuning company map the old girl.
What’s people’s responses ?

had my 170 A3 done years ago, and it ran 206, 330ft lbs. and it was ace!!
I used ecotune Scotland.

Anyone used a remapuk
Been quoted £180
Sounds cheap?
No I haven't but I would instinctively be asking whether the remap that costs £180 where most others (including those acknowledged as being leaders in the field) are more than twice as much was a false economy. Personally, I'm still waiting for my VW warranty to expire before I get a remap and then I'll probably be going Bognor Motors and Revo

He’s a mobile guy so costs maybe lower?
Or are these revo or pendle maps charging double because they can on name only for same job? Only playin devil’s advocate?

Dunno but personally I would rather be safe than sorry. There are plenty of people on here who know a lot more about this stuff than me who take the same attitude. At the end of the day, it's your money, your engine and your decision. Good luck whatever you do and don't forget to report back.

What's the usual remap figure from a 150 DSG and the cost from the big name companies ?

Well I'm staggered by the poor mpg numbers some are getting. I have a T5.1 102 5 speed panel van which driven gently showed 42 mpg on a 22 mile mixed-road trip to my nearest VW dealer. At the last service I had a demo T6 150 6 speed manual Kombi which showed 57 mpg over the same route!

I've just ordered a pre-registered T6 Kombi 150 DSG which according to VWs blurb is more fuel efficient than the 6 speed manual?

My T5.1 is showing a long term average of 34 mpg, I was hoping the T6 would be better, or at least no worse.

No chance
My T6 150’dsg t30 on 275/40/20 only doing 27/28mpg driving like a nun around town

Yeah well good luck with that. I think we all know what an honourable and truthful company VW / VAG are when it comes to stuff like fuel consumption issues. It seems that whenever the subject comes up, there's always someone who has seen some very impressive consumption figures in their car / van but far more who get nothing like it. Also, was I you, I wouldn't rely on a fuel computer and would do the sums for myself.

Cheap re-maps are out there - you can buy generic files on line....... for less than £100.
Most of the main and bigger tuners spend months and months developing maps, on dunks but more importantly on vehicles on the road.
I know in Revo’s case they are developed with all their dealers around the world running the beta maps and reporting back and tweaking as they go. And only releasing when we are totally happy with it.
We personally have helped with the T6 199 map as well as the Golf R/Cupra GPF map.

i tuned my 150 PS T6 for a cheap price 300 euro's 185 ps and removed it after a couple of months :( you could feel that the drive train or gear box didn't like it ...

when to JDEngineering specialist in Tuning VW cars in The Netherlands, put the car on the roller bench they made a program stage 2 tuning 200 ps 450nm the Van drives smooth and silk.

Hello, just wondering is there a remap for the 150 highline 2017 t6 euro6? or is it not advised?

Thanks

Daniel

AFAIK both Pendle and REVO offer remaps for that model. Other companies may also offer remaps but Pendle and REVO are renowned for their knowledge of the T6 engines. I'm not aware of any issues remapping the 150 engine.
