good suggestion. I was 95% sure the EGR wouldn't fix the issue so when the garage didn't want to do the oil with the EGR at a sensible price I decided to see if the EGR fixed anything first. Oil and filter are now due (by age) so will be getting this done imminently.

Completely agree not an acute issue. I would suggest plotting EGR test as in thread EGR Valve Self Test Procedure (IDE00242)- P046C? - that will show how well (or not) the valve obeys. I like to think this as an early warning / canary type DTC.

The tafmet simulates the egr, so I believe the ecu still thinks it there, but the egr is electrical disconnected and blanked. I don't know what tuners do to remove it

From the EGRs I’ve looked at this is fairly normal when they are caked in carbon. If this was the cause of the lost power (boost) I’m surprised it isn’t a more common occurrence. Please keep us updated.
