FWIW . . .
I've had both changed under warranty,
front lower engine mount and front main crankshaft oil seal,
and EGR+cooler, and EGR rear pipe
plus a DMF - twice.

“Also will replace the pipes as well.”
See post #28 shows the procedure, revised EGRpipe etc.

Edit: the white gunk under the filler suggests it’s been used for short runs recently, where the engine has not reached /...
Hi @Rabonitez,
Nice van!
I took a kind of middle path. Bought the "PartsTec PTA510-0837" assembly (valve and cooler). And then I went with genuine VW pipes of the latest revision for both the front and the rear, along with new gaskets.
I won't lie. It's quite an extensive and frustrating job...
I have just replaced my rear egrpipe due to a split. The dealer quoted me almost £600 to fix .
As mentioned earlier there is little room to work if you have aircon, aux heater. Lots of pipes etc. which unfortunately is my Cali. I bought the genuine latest upgraded pipe with gaskets and bolts...
Hi my rear EGRpipe is split and I need to source another. Is anyone able to give me a part number. Registration number is T6 CBY. Its a CXHA engine code. I`m hoping its not the one where they give you a choice of 2 part numbers depending on what turbo is fitted as has been reported on before...
So, I am getting the diesel exhaust fume smell in the cab and very strong when I stick my head under the bonnet. My van appears to have the new shape rear pipe.
How easy is it to diagnose a cracked pipe (front or rear)? should you see smoke, be able to feel gas being puffed out? I have had my...
The gaskets look Like single use with a crush ring .
The other similar pipe coming out the other side of the egr has same gasket at one end, but a rubber seal At the other where it goes into the inlet manifold.
I got new gaskets and new bolts as the ones that came out the exhaust manifold looked...
There are EGR two pipes that have a habit of splitting - one at the front and one at the back of the engine. There is also the flexi exhaust downpipe. It sounds like one of these are split from your description.
Selling two items and open to offers for either.
EGR REAR FLEXI PART NUMBER 04L 131 521 BF
EGR FRONT FLEXI PART NUMBER
04L 131 521 BH
Small flex is brand new, never fitted as I ordered the wrong part number and seller wants 50% return fee!
Large flex same as above but I did install and...
Thing is there’s the charge cooler inlet pipe to the manifold and the EGR cooler pipe to manifold. So it should not have been a part swapping experience imo, plus there has been so may EGR coolers that have failed due to the extreme heat and cooling they are put under, and that should have been...
Hi guys,
I have had to buy a new turbo because of a failure, but now I see the manifold is slightly different, do yo know if there has been a egrpipe revision?
I just did mine today and it was a massive pain in the a. Right pipe took 10mins, the left took 3 hours. Someone must have changed the egr cooler under warranty as the left top and bottom screws nearest the radiator were cross-threaded. Managed to sort the top but the bottom was wrecked as the...
Strangely the EML came on, was still running fine, still under car dealer warranty, so took it to VW who said it needed a EGR flush and pipe change, which they did, warranty coughed up and its been fine since! paying attention to oil usage now, its about 3/4 down the dipstick
