The instructions are printing in black and white and they contradict themselves, pretty poor instructions to be fair. I dont mind cutting out under tray. At the front of your van on drivers side did you have two holes? One either side of the thin piece of steel that runs down front to back? I...
There the same brackets i fitted to mine. They line up with the rubber grommets as per the instructions( if you have them) The undertray needs to be cut out to mount them.properly. Haven't got any pics of fitting them unfortunately.
What’s stopping my cables from going from the tailgate grommet to the hinge grommet on the RHS?
I’m trying to ad solar cable and wanted to run it across from one side to the other inside body work but it stops half way. I have Barn Doors
...off.
Or you can drill and nut and bolt to the seat base.
Or you can drill and rivnut to the B pillar.
Or you can drop through the floor grommet and drill and bolt into the lower chassis rail.
Or you can go a bit further back and drill and bolt, in the framework behind the first panel in...
There is a hole in that location, so any roof bolt leaks or leaky grommets might come out there. You can see the holes here:

...worked great.
New hole in metal roof. I’ve moved it onto a raised channel so there’s less chance of water sitting there.
Plastic grommet fitted.
I will seal it before final fitment.
MPPT and isolation switches fitted to rear cupboard panel.
The Sargent goes below it.
Cerbo screen...
...and will be able to screw my panel to that.
I’m still waiting on the VE cables for the Cerbo and the Roamer/Cerbo cable.
I’m about to disable the existing solar panel and controller and fit the MPPT.
I will pick up more rubber grommets and finish the power wire under the bonnet today also.
...cable tied flexi-con to the holes along the route as required.
6. Drill two holes on the centre brace in middle of van, insert a small cable grommet to protect wires and feed up tails to where you need them. (sorry don't have a photo of this)
7. As said above, good practice to use edge strip...
...that fits into the original seat belt mount. So the panel will be solid.
I’ve ran the 16mm power wire from the SB to the LB. I can’t find my grommets so will need to pick up some more before feeding it through the metal panel below the wipers to the midi fuse holder.
I’m trying to upload...
...If you poke something through it’ll become clear.
Bear in mind - please do read up on cable safety in vehicles - for example by using grommets, the two types of cable sheathing available (and when to use each) and the importance of using flexi conduit in some circumstances. I’m not an auto...
The loom on the camera isn’t long enough for that but I could probably route the other side of the loom (originating from the dash) through that grommet and connect everything up in the plastic trim. That’s a good suggestion thanks 👍
...anything all the way to the back of the van, but my setup with the thule acrobats allows (short) surfboards to be mounted in front of the panel. Obviously they will cast some shade depending on orientation, but they don’t cover the panel.
Cable runs down to the rear light wiring loom grommet.
...strange indeed, and I'm hoping it was the crud that was blocking the drain hole, and in heavy and persistant rain the level was reaching a grommet in the bulkhead that cables pass through.
Time will tell, but it's looking promising at the moment, so many thanks to all the people on this...
