No problem! The best advice is to always try and let the regen complete after it starts. Stopping mid regen can contribute to faster than average accumulation of oil ash. Avoid forced regens. They are not healthy.

There's no warning lights. You can check with Carista the status of thr DPF but there's nothing to worry about. The regen will restart next time you dive if it didn't finish. If the issue persistent a good run of 30 or so will help.

VW have all the technical wizardry to cheat emissions tests yet can’t work out the regen cycle… a cynic would say they like the idea of selling new engines.

Diesel particulate filter. It catches all the crap that comes out the engine. That might will have come if the van hasn't been able to complete a dpf regen by itself under normal driving.

When I looked into this darkside said I would have to remove the dpf. So I went down the tafmet route instead, 20km with the tafmet fitted no issues and dpf regen as normal. It may the way tuners program out the egr is the only thing I could think that would stop the regen process

Think you're right, went on a drive today while my son was monitoring the DPF. Started regen straight away and stopped with soot at 5.9g. 2 minutes (2 miles) later soot was at 24g and regen started again. DPF temp in/out 592/617oC. I take it must be just constantly doing regens.

What do you mean by a run? I find it takes about 30mins of out of town motoring before a regen starts properly as everything needs to get up to temperature. If my van has not been used for a while (it’s not a daily and never used for running about town) I will give it a run on my commute which...
