One more question , if I’m going for a narrower tyre. Would I have to use spacers for the rear to bring thee tyre in line with the van more?
Think I could do with offsetting the rears already on my 270 tyre. So was just wondering.
yeah, it’s quite common when your wheels are the same width front and back to run a spacer on the rear. It brings them out so they sit more like the front ones do. A 10 or 15mm spacer will do the job. Just remember some longer wheel bolts!

Hi, I shall continue my noob questions, I've never bought tyres for a van so its my first time.....
Im about to take the plunge on these:

Alloys
Calibre CC-I

Tyres
Toyo Proxes T1 Sport SUV
275/40/20 106 (XL): max 1900 kg per axle

Are these ok?

Hi guys
So any recommendations on which tyre brand! currently running Goodyear Eagle F1s. Done around 15k miles on them and looks like I’ll need to replace soon.
Running 20s on a T6 T30 4motion

Really pleased with the even wear and performed great just looking at other options.

I have a 2018 T6 T28 fully converted with pop top.
I am looking for tyre recommendations to improve the ride ect.

I currently have 255/35/R20 and the van is lowered by around 40mm.

What mid range tyre do people recommend, should I go for something like 245/40/R20 with a load rating of 101 and above and would this improve the ride slightly.
What are people using currently for their vans and what tyres won't bankrupt me??!!!
Thanks in advance.

A quick look says that 255 35's are usually rated 97 so I'd definitely be going to the 245 40's. You'll never know what tyre you like until you try it, some people have had good experiences with budget tyres while others will only buy premium brands. I'd start by putting your chosen size in to Blackcircles and see what prices you get if something takes your fancy look for some reviews on that particular tyre and take it from there.

Thanks for the reply. Yes mine are 97y rated which is the main reason I want to change. They came on the van I recently bought.
I've seen some Koryo tyres which are 255/40/R20 102y but can't find any reviews on These!!

Black Circles only list one tyre with a suitable load rating in that size, and that's a Nankang.

for 20" wheels there isnt a massive amount of tyre left to improve the ride. your best bet might be to look at what suspension you have, especially with a loaded camper which is likely to be making the current suspension work hard.
you say lowered is that springs only?

Yes springs only.

looking for some advice I have just purchased T6 with Wolfrace 20" Alloy wheels and the tyres need replacing on the front, the tyres that are on aren't a well-known brand I assume they are budget tyres?? the size that is currently on is 255/45 R20 105 V XL
Buying tyres for a van is all new so looking for some advice however whenever I have put budget tryes on a low profile alloy in the past the noise has been terrible so was lookning for something mid-range, I notice another post someone recommends goodyear but in this size they come out more expensive so possible looking for a midrange tyre around £150 - 160 mark.

What "T" is your van? T26, 28, 30 or 32.
You need to take into account the load rating.
Lots of useful information here.

I've struggled to get mid-budget tyres locally for my T30 (same tyre sizes). I've had a pair of Uniroyals fitted.

I know there not the best tyre in the world but will see how they drive and how well they wear.

its a T28
255/40 20 are a good size for a T28, assuming that the wheels are 8.5 or 9” wide, which they most likely are.

More than enough load rating and closer to OEM size than the 255/45 you’re running now, so your speedo will be more accurate. You should be able to get something decent for your budget in that size.
