Adblue and Exhaust warning light poll- what is happening to who, with what vans, driving how, is the problem getting fixed, how long is this taking..

Have you had Adblue / Exhaust warning light issues?

Just a wee thought, but if you tick 'No' then surely that should be the only button that should be ticked. Otherwise the results will be skewed. ie ticking No, 150, DSG will make the results for 150 DSG's that have ticked 'yes' look worse.

Do a long journey at least once a week around 40-50 miles getting engine really hot Try and do a dpf regen
Thanks for your reply. That wouldn’t really be practical. I’d be doing 40-50 miles purely to stop the van having any issues. Maybe it’s the wrong van choice :-(

Hello @M88gav , it is not just these vans that can have problems from regular short trips. We have had diesel golfs, diesel 4x4's and a diesel qashqai and have been told the same thing every time anything goes wrong with them as have other people i know with various other makes and models of van and car

Hi all, close to buying my first van, a T6 Kombi, 150 diesel. I’ve just come across all these issues with Adblue and it’s putting me off making the purchase!
The van I’m planning on buying is a 68 plate 2019 DSG.
Would I be right assuming that this is an ongoing (potential) problem, even to newer/new vehicles?
Thanks for your help
Hi. I've got a 68 plate 150 DSG with about 7,500 miles on the clock. The first 2,000 were done by the main dealer. No problems with the Adblue. Having said that my 5,500 miles are mainly one hour motorway runs and a few short journeys.

Probably Russian interference skewing the results anyway.

Agreed, as it stands it just shows that 150 vans are in the majority rather than most likely to exhibit faults. I'm also intrigued by the 10% that haven't had problems but haven't had no problems ;)

My 150 DSG MY 2019 had 4 emission warning lights by 2k miles. Reset each time by VW Assist / AA. I took van into main agent without resetting the last time and they replaced the SCR valve. All good so far, now at 4k miles.

So the emission light has come back at 4.5k miles. In to Breeze Portsmouth tomorrow!

My adblue issue never got fixed by the dealers, there incapable of fixing there design flawed piece of crap of a van so I had the van remapped with a couple of well known mods and it’s better than ever with no more adblue problems.. no more adblue problems at all

So Breeze ran the van through diagnostics and identified there were no outstanding codes. They did a forced regen, why I don't know, and reset the eml. This time I am being told the cause is my driving style, and I should drive the van like I stole it! Really! Totally frustrated now!

this is the same rubbish that be told me. (Driving style and short distances) I travel a minimum of 30 miles on motorways 5 days a week. Sometimes 70 miles! There systems are clearly flawed and they have no fix for it!

After loads of work under warranty (new everything from manifold to EGR valve and all sorts with £5000 parts and 50 hrs work) it was fine- then went on again (exhaust system warning). This time a new NOX (improved) sensor. The service at the garage has been good with friendly and helpful staff. I was told that the NOX sensor is now updated in the new vans. I wonder if that is the issue we have all had? I hope so.

I have a 2017 150 DSG and have constant adblue problems every time it gets filled up, light came on yesterday 650 miles to go before engine won’t start, down to 400 today so took it to my main VW dealer to fill it up. all I can say is they are useless, filled it up and never even checked if the sensor had picked up the refill, went back and told them and all I got was there must be an issue book it in!!! They have had every time it was filled up and told me they had fixed the problem with the software update last year.

Who did your remap and which map did they use please.

I currently have the engine management light on with a fault code for the Nox sensor. I am wondering if my engine remap has anything to do with the fault as the exhaust gases tend to run hotter with the increase in power.
Of those that have replaced Nox sensors, how many have remaps?

This is a copy of my last data log. I notice it shows "Reducing agent : urea concentration 0.00%" is this correct or would you expect to see some level of urea? Any advise welcome.
