T6 Aftermarket Digital Instrument Cluster

I wonder if there is something going on with the imobiliser now the dash has been changed o_O

Your existing cluster is there so I wouldn't expect there to be any trust issues. I don't know how the Ghost works, but is there a coding issue?

I get directions on mine like the old MFD but only using the head unit nav, not carplay nav.
@Deaky have you found a way around the old mfd making the odd station change or call dial? I'm trying to figure what VCDS can do to disable mfd media control, but still be retained for Digidash control. I guess its the big question..

Anyone wanting firmware I've got multivan for T5 1/T6 rev1 and rev2 boards. Working well.. pm me your email and which you need and I will invite you to access the relevant file on my GDrive.. for reference. Rev2 has the Android Auto and CarPlay logos on it.

Is this new firmware compatible with all ICs and what are the new features?

I have an after market head unit so Bluetooth is not active on my MFD and I've not known it change radio station. I've not had chance to look at VCDS but it is something I need to do because the language setting is incorrect for me now. Not an issue with the dash but my AUX heater is all in German

I have an Alpine Halo 11 with the Canbus interfeace.

I don't see the same telephony screen like I had on the MFD, or like you show above.

Righty, I take some of this back. Normally, the phone screen on the new dash shows 'Bluetooth Disconnected'. I don't get the same display as @Jan_B showing carrier and phone as we did on the old MFD. I think I made the first call in the van today and I got the normal call in progress details as we did with an MFD, see below.

But as to @Jan_B's original question, I can't select previous calls, access the phonebook etc, as you could do with the MFD. Not that I think I ever used it.

Still can't work out to use the wireless Android Auto that this new board is supposed to support.

Oh, and the bong has started at 20MPH....
just leave it overnight, the bong will reset ;-)

I asked the friendly technician about this problem, but I think he didn't understand me correctly.
He told me that the Bluetooth function is only for mirror link and not for phone function.
But something still seems to be happening in the background, otherwise I wouldn't be able to call the last contact.
Unfortunately I didn't get any further answers
yes, it seems they forget the vehicle mutilmedia has bluetooth and it shares this info to the dash. (the dash itself also has bluetooth but we dont use that). Sadyly im in the same boat as you although my display is in a random language (a bit like Deaky's aux heater controls)

Thanks Anthony.

Please can you tell us: is it possible to roll back to current if something goes squiffy, and how does the file get to the clocks - what’s the process please? This appears to be different to previous thinking ie over the air updates.

Many thanks

Download the file

Save it on a USB Stick ( Fat 32 Format ) do Not extract the File ⚠️

Connect USB stick to the update USB Port

If all done right the Update will start automatically

According to the friendly Prelingcar Chinese Support man, there is No rollback to previous versions possible

Yeah. Not doing that. That means stripping the dash. The whole deal for me was over the air updates. I’m happy with the version I’ve got so will sit tight for a while.

But thank you sincerely for the explanation. Appreciated.

You dont have a separate Update USB port beside the CarPlay Port ?

Btw : there was a very clear Warning not to update OTA written on the / my User manual

I hadn’t noticed that. I did my first update OTA, guess I was lucky to not have any issues o_O

Yes, I do, bundled up and tucked away behind the dash as OTA was the advised update method.

Interesting thing I noticed the other day.

I have a retrofitted button on the dash to deactivate DSC/ESP. On the old cluster, pressing this would cause a bong on the dash, light up the DSC/ESP button on the cluster and turn the light on the button amber

On the digi dash. I get no bong and the button light doesn't change to amber. I do however get an icon on the dash

I can get us rollback firmware if anything screwy goes on, I have hosted the files here, including a short tutorial - please read the readme! : FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD – Google Drive

P.S. Firmware can, of course, be rolled back - I would need to request that and then host it for you to USB. I have changed it many times to test new versions. These are the two I am sticking with for now - both support 5.1 & T6 - options depending on Rev1 & Rev2 boards. I now drop the USB cables down and access via the column adjust slot and fish around for them if needed.

Thanks for your update and the Files
Very much appreciate

Pretty Shure you got an idea what will happen uploading REV 2 file to REV1 Board ?

Thanks in advance

Teaser alert..

Pretty chuffed to get this all up and running last night.. Coming soon.. to a Digidash near you! Should be able to get this level of integration out of a stock OEM.. Interested? My firetv just got ejected from the Halo 11!!

All screens can be customised in terms of size, position and ratio.. still playing with that a bit. I've just changed the mid screen option to be like the smallest one so it laps the dials but maintains close to proportionate aspect ratio.. I'm not a fan of stretching things, reminds me of other technophobes PowerPoints I had to drag my old self through before Digidash saved me!!

As a note.. it starts up and connects like this.. last app, last view, hdmi feed, android OS12 driven, onboard WiFi, SIM card option (makes it trackable), remote control as option, Android Auto and CarPlay both wireless working and connecting to both.. assembling the kits and instructions soon for UK supply.

Also testing this morning.. snappy 'manufacturers' animated startup logo instead of spinny driving van. Will add to firmware collections and instructions if I love it which I think I already do. Probably have to take care with descriptions and video footage in the future though. This will be forever referred to as 'optional startup logo'.

That would be nice! I don't like the spinny driving van
