T6 Aftermarket Digital Instrument Cluster

Mine arrived today. Apprehensive about installing it now, my main worry is the fact the existing MFD remains active and if your phone is paired to the head unit it can make calls? I pair my phone to the headunit mostly for playing podcasts.

Updated this morning...simple enough.. I do now have a TransPoter however, at least its the right colour now though! :)

Other point to note a 'reboot' option is now shown in the calibration menu...which in fact returns to factory defaults (so yes, i set mine up twice!) so watch out for that. No problems with casting phone screen to it yet, prior it seemed to fail 1 in 5 times on average.

Just a word of warning, it may just be my unit, I previously did an OTA update a few weeks back as I assumed there may have been an update for mine considering the version of the app it's running.

Having tried to update to the latest firmware tonight via USB I now get the following error perhaps the 30GB USB isn't accepted but I can't see to run an OTA update either now without getting the same error as the USB. I'm running the Digi dash from Demonized which I assume is the same version / one as Antony supplies?

I get the impression from the manual that the OTA is probably for their testers during development and asking for firmware and using USB is the proper way.

Quite possibly but you would have though they would have it hidden away really. I also suspect, that it's not a one size fits all update judging by the amount of different app variations I've seen on the App info.

Yep, a jumper on the board to enable OTA perhaps.

I have a V1. My HDMI is at the end of a 30cm cable from the cluster wiring loom, along with a USB port

I'm close to completing assembly. No screws for the PCB, so I had to improvise with existing screws and some plastic washers. Then I was 1 screw down on the main case, no idea where that went.

Also, my cluster has the colour LCD and it just unclips, no cable which was unexpected. I've put PVC tape over the connector as it looks like it might rub on the flex cable otherwise.

Ah. But it doesn't do anything yet?
The other end isn't plugged in though is it.. unless you had a really early board, where the rear HDMI was naff. If so, I have a few spare internal hdmi swap out boards for the casting board that's in there now. It just connects on the same ribbon as you have. Make sure you really want the hdmi first though.

I really need to keep an eye on this thread more.. had no issues with my digital dash other than the mpg for the tank as mentioned seems way out. I do watch mine as gives me some idea when I need to think about filling up.

Then just the gear change indicator gone, but that's nothing I miss of course.

Hey Fletch! Check out the links in my bio for new firmware and added bonus graphic.. might sort you out..

Got mine installed (no pictures sorry). Had trouble getting the left side to clip in, had to tape up the cables so they were resting higher up. I've got the 15th January firmware. No "Transpoter" in mine. I was playing about with it and then went to the phone menu and it said "Hang up", so rushed into the house to make sure it wasn't calling anyone. Luckily I have dual sim and the phone was stuck at the "Select SIM for this call" screen :D
