Do you ever drive off road?

Not properly no, do alot of mountain biking so up and down fire track roads from time to time. Also with it being a camper, i just fancy a bit more tyre for some of the spots we go. Also some bad winter's being from Scotland I guess.

sounds like it’s not just for show then, I’ve got cargo vectors which cane with the van. They don’t look chunky but they were brilliant in the snow, and they were good in the mud too. But probably not the look you’re going for

Yeah it will be getting used alright. I've got the cargo vectors on at the moment and completely agree. Fantastic tyres. Think I'm just aiming for one step further.as.you say and a bit of looks. Plan is to go back to standard suspension also to soften the ride up again.

I’ve put 25mm spacers on with standard suspension and it looks much better. I’m going to live with the Vectors for now as there’s other stuff I need to do inside the van and there’s loads of life left in them yet.

Skip the standard suspension and jump straight into a Sekiel Lift kit, it gives you a better ride and more clearance off road.

They are a bit pricey, but if you can sacrifice a good kidney or first born, its well worth it.

Haha I'll see what I can do

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but thought I'd ask here instead of creating a new one.. I've got h&r deep drops on the van at the moment but as I use the van for camping in the lakes/Scotland and mountain biking it's not really that practical.

Thinking of going down the lifted look with some tyres that actually grip in wet fields, most of the lift kits I've seen from Transporter HQ and the like look to be springs to fit standard dampers.
Anyone know if I could fit them to H&R dampers? I assume they are designed to be run low and now raised up?

I can't really stretch to a Siekel lift kit, what's the best other option out there?

Hey up. Rapidly heading down the swamper route. Picked some wheels that I liked from Wolfrace but they don't fit despite them saying they do on the fitment guide. The spokes catch the calipers So now I need to sort some different wheels and can't decide whether to go for 17's or 18's in black or silver. If I go for 18 wheels they are 8.5J 46 offset on standard suspension. Will they take a 235 55 18 tyre without any rubbing. Vans a T28? Also how big a difference will the larger tyre have to gearing....

Are you lowered?
If not too much; then yep they should fit, but you may wish to add 25mm per wheel spacers all round, for looks?
Gearing about +3.5%, so at 29mph accurately indicated, you will actually be doing 30mph.
Should not be a problem unless you've got a small engine, and haul big loads across heavily undulating terrain.

As @chriscroft says, would a thin set of spacers pull enable the wheel spokes to have sufficient clearance?

@DaveyB went back to Wolfrace and they said they could increase offset by 5mm. Spoke to my mate who's a mechanic and said there would still be possible issues when it comes to changing break pads as new pads will cause the calipers to stick out further. As the wheels were already 9J on 35 offset going any further would have started to make the wheels look daft
