That’s really tall and yet they don’t look it at all, must be the wheels that mess with my eyes.
To be honest, I think it's too much tyre but it came complete and I'm just happy it fits (just), so my plan now is to run them until they need changing and go with a 235/65 r17 which I think will be about right.
Also planning on a 35mm lift at some point too.

Well I’ve made up my mind (ish). Asked Bognor for quotes on 2 wheels and will order based on that.

Just had a set of Devonports fitted with 225 65 R17 BF Goodrich AT tyres and am very happy with them.

They fill the arches well and speedo is more accurate now. Would love to have them powder coated a more muted silver but they will do for now.

What pressure you got in the tyres?

Satin black looks the dogs danglers on a pure grey. Had mine done last week with BFGs.

They are sitting at 50psi for now. I like the look of the satin black.

That's interesting, It was recommended to put 43 psi in them but I found the front bulged out a fair bit so increased the front to 50 with 44 in the back. They look and feel spot on now. I don't have anything in the back but I will increase the rear as and when required.

I might have a play with my 225/65/17 AT's, I'm currently running at a lower pressure than this

Powder coated satin black 16inch Clayton alloys fitted with Hankook Dynapro AT2 235/70/16 109t. Delighted with the look and drives like a dream, no rubbing on arches or excessive road noise. Finally achieved the look I was after thanks to all the fantastic advice on this Forum!

How have folks found the AT tyres in the snow and ice? Im quite tempted to change from winters/all seasons that I generally run but I do need tyres that are decent in snow and ice. I dont doubt they are good in loose stuff but I dont want anything that is going to be useless in wintery road conditions as we do have that for about 3 months of the year.

Yeah LTJ, that's exactly the route I decided to take. Really pleased with the result, even the the tyre fitter had his reservations regarding the tyre size, however fills the arches perfectly!

I've taken my Nokian Weatherproof 235/55/18's off (about 8k miles on them), and put some 225/65/17 Pirelli Scorpion AT+ on, both are 3PMSN (with a change of wheels of course),
I've been running around today with about 2" of snow and ice, and over the weekend with roads flooding all over the shop.
I can't tell a difference in the snow and ice, but being 4motion, I don't have setting-off issues with any tyres; but in terms of stopping and corning they seem very similar
The Nokians are definitely better in standing water, in terms of not pulling to one side or another; and cornering grip; and braking.
But I really like the ride of the AT+; their looks; their abilities on very soft verges etc; and how they make me feel about the van. I think 235's would have looked better

@Mescaleros or anyone.... Will there be any drawbacks/problems to an increase in tire size like this

An interesting question.
I'm running 235/55/18 which is about 4.1% bigger circumference than the OE 215/65/16 that my T6 came out of the factory on. I can feel the difference and I wouldn't want my van to be even higher geared. (6speed manual).
Having said that there are plenty of happy owners out there running similarly large tyres so I doubt it's a serious problem.
I can't find the quote but I think Bognor motors suggested that they didn't recommend more than a 5% increase in circumference over OE.

Yes I thought I had read that before. I love the look but I don’t want to bugger other things up.

I've only just had them put on @Long tall John, so too early to tell. Drove fine from the tyre fitters, however didn't have my satnav on to compare mph. I've read through and watched alsorts of blogs and vlogs, non appeared to advise against the bigger size, they just cited a few miles per gallon less and a slight discrepancy with satnav/speedo. As someone said, we're not built for speed, so I'm more than happy to plod along at the recommended speed limt (apart from autobahns)! I guess its down to each individual and how you feel about the compromise....looks, drive, fuel, speed etc? ps If you do find out anything detrimental against the larger tyres, keep me out of the loop.....doubt I'd get a refund now!
