I've only just had them put on @Long tall John, so too early to tell. Drove fine from the tyre fitters, however didn't have my satnav on to compare mph. I've read through and watched alsorts of blogs and vlogs, non appeared to advise against the bigger size, they just cited a few miles per gallon less and a slight discrepancy with satnav/speedo. As someone said, we're not built for speed, so I'm more than happy to plod along at the recommended speed limt (apart from autobahns)! I guess its down to each individual and how you feel about the compromise....looks, drive, fuel, speed etc? ps If you do find out anything detrimental against the larger tyres, keep me out of the loop.....doubt I'd get a refund now!
I think we drive in a similar fashion. A bit of fun on the autobahn for an hour... The rest of the time normal driving speed... or your on Fiji time and driving easy.

Basically, I don’t think we do ridiculous miles hammering it all the time so I would take the risk because I’m sure it’s within reasonable parameters. I’m surprised tyre fitters aren’t obliged to tell you if you’re fitting ill-advised wheels.

I am curious though cos if it’s a big no-no we both want to know!!

yes its lowered , I bought it on 19" and it was so low it rubbed on potholes and bumps , iv lifted it 50mm so it can't be to far off stock , from the ground to the wheel arch its 720mm

It seems mad but there’s a big difference between the two sizes
everything is about power if you have remaped 150hp to cca 185hp or crazy biturbo remaped too, you dont need care about dynamics but when you have 150hp and less , and you want some speed i wouldnt go over 71cm (235/60r17, 235/55r18) sorry for my english ( i am from slovakia)

I have 150 HP and I don’t want to go any faster. I just want it to look better without any problems and if it runs better then that’s a ++

And your English is ++

My 225/65/R17's were 4.8% larger than factory and it has made my spedo bang on.

I also spoke to the VW technican at the garage I bought it from and confirmed there would be no detrimental effect on the 4motion or DSG and they said, "we put larger wheels on ourselves". No affect on warranty.

Swamp is the future... No fear of a ding as they will ride over a kerb like a 2p piece haha.

“No affect on Warranty” (Of the tyres)... (Does he warrant the engine and breaks also) ?

And I love the idea of ripping over a curb effortlessly!

I got a factory 5 year warranty on the Van and they said it wouldn't affect that. Not actually sure what that covers but the new tyres doesn't affect it so was no prob.

Also will add, it made the ride softer. Pot holes and broken roads not a problem.

i can tell you interesting thing about our country (slovakia) , we have speed limit 130 km/h so we can go 140 km/h without police problems (but probably 150 km/h because in our country we dont have any radars on whole highways) and now start problem when you want to go 140 or 150 km/h and sometimes we have small hills or climbs on highways when you have 150hp the gearbox need to down shit from 7 to 6 to hold that speed in that climb and that is why in this speed you need minimum remaped 150 to 180hp than its no problem. so cca 180 hp is right and comfotable power for everything but if you dont go over 120km/h (thats is normal speed for vans , you dont need more power) i have 2017 vw t6 multivan.

I want 235/65/17 Pirelli Scorpion AT+
What I liked about the Holeshots was the visible bright bolt heads on the faux bead lockers. I might go back to the drawing board now.
Have you seen these, says they are for Amarok, but that means should fir the transporter:

Already got the Zephyrs https://www.t6forum.com/threads/what-have-you-done-to-your-van-today.6825/post-352251

Looks good. I thought you wanted silver bolts though.

I missed what you did to the van to fall out with it.
I couldn’t get the look I wanted without going for the Twin Monotubes and I just couldn’t bring myself to pay that much. Now they’re on I really like the way they tie in with the other black on the van (of which there’ll be more).
It was further back in that thread, don’t make me relive it
