Any runners here?

@Mike Dean will be picking up a bucket hat in due course. This thread got me thinking its time to replace my old Inov8 F-lite trail shoes. Never really liked the fit and interested to try the latest fad of more cushioning. Run mainly around the south downs with the odd muddy forest section, door to trails. So whats everyone using these days??
Top stuff thanks for the support.
I'm a huge HOKA fan, they fit me well so here is my list.

Long road comfy training - Clifton 8
Long road or Short speed - Mach 4
All trails Wet or dry - Evo Speedgoat
Dry trails - Zinal

I'm loving the Zinal right now, but the EVO's are just something else, 50k later and feet are as fresh as they started. I have a pair in the cupboard for when i want them again.

Mike - I've looked at the site & Instagram, it doesn't look obvious how to donate ? Not fussed about the cap - especially if that means more goes to the charity. Am I missing something ?

Sorry there is a pop-up in the Caps page which highlights that all proceeds go to charity.
Simply purchase a cap and i do the rest - it's nice to give you something back, and by showing other running the attain cap it brings in further sales, which means further donation :)

Thanks,
Mike

The virtual one was to complete it in a month, which I thought was good as it was lock down it gave people the opportunity to get out and do running/walking and have a nice medal at the end of it.

I did the virtual spine race which is 268 miles again which had to be completed in a month, but done it in 20 days.

I bought a pair of Inov-8 TerraUltra 270’s earlier this year and am very pleased with them. I’ve done a few long events in them including a 50 miler round the Lake District and they performed brilliantly. I have very wide feet so struggle to get trail shoes that fit me. I also use Inov-8 X-Talon Ultra 260 which have served me well too. The lugs on these are more aggressive so great in the mud and on rocky trails but terrible on the road. For shorter events I use RocLite 275’s which are a good all rounder but slightly narrower. On longer events I definitely need the extra width the others provide (Or I lose my toenails).
One of my running buddies has a pair of Inov-8 Trailfly Ultra G300 Max which he reckons are the best shoes he’s ever bought. They’re a little too rich for me

Inov8 tend to come up narrow, so i'm surprised by that. I don't cover the grown required to be in claws.

Depends on the shoe, they have 5 different width fittings, I’ve found if i go for one that is a 4 or even better a 5, they are good for me. Unfortunately each shoe is only available in one fitting so it does limit which ones work for me. The TerraUltra is a 5 (widest) fitting.

Did the London Virtual Marathon on Sunday tired legs that evening, nice walk this evening to stretch them a little and i think i will do a short run tomorrow.

Just been accepted for the Warrington 40 Mile trail race in November, will be my second ultra

Took up running in my late 40's and managed to do 2 marathons, 6 half's and numerous 10k's before my knees gave me several signs to stop at 54. On the bike now doing Sportives, Ridelondon my favourite....waiting to hear if I've got in this year for the new Essex route

you finished 4th or you finished your 4th Spine??
(both ridiculously impressive btw!)
Finished my 4th Spine. 9th place this time. Reeled a few back in on the last day over the Cheviots as I was going surprisingly well. Weather was fairly good for January, but very boggy underfoot. Still had full waterproofs on for most of the time, but not being p***s wet through for 20hrs a day felt like a bonus!

Good stuff. Preparing for the day my knees or ankles pack up and I’m push iron shopping....

wow! fantastic achievement.

ha yeah, must have been nice to be 'fairly' dry - can't imagine that's the norm!

Doing the summer one. Fan Dance this weekend. Panama Coast to Coast in March
