Any runners here?

Got my 2022 running calendar pretty much sorted now, most in North West or Lakes, whats everyone else got coming up this year?

Anglezarke Amble - 24mile trail
Lostock 6 - 6mile road
Curlys 5K Trail Series 3 X 5K Trails
Manchester Marathon
The Lap - Windermere 47 mile trail
Ultra X trail - 31 mile trail
Langdale Half Marathon
Keswick Half Marathon
Warrington Way 40mile trail

And I've entered the ballot for London marathon and Great North Run.

Never be embarrassed Ambrose, ultra was my transition from 10k runs. Once I tried my 1st 100k ( it wasn’t pretty) I never looked back.

I love the fact that on some races you go through the night, scenery in places is fantastic and it’s away that you find more out about yourself and re prioritise life.

Yeah one day, when I've built up enough courage, I'll give ultras a go!

On a separate note, I've just pulled the trigger on the Fenix 6s Pro as they're starting to come down in price so if anyone fancies a second hand Garmin 645 Music then let me know!

I don’t think I have what it takes to commit to the long distances.

I did the Trailwalker 100k walk over about 24 hours along the South Downs last year. I echo the comments about scenery and going through the night. Loved it.

Training is hard though.

I generally just do 5k and the odd half.

I do Parkrun every weekend and try to do different ones when I travel.

I've entered a few 10k and HM but I am a little embarrassed to share here with you ultra peeps...
Yeah no need to be embarrassed at all, getting out and about is more than most!

I never ever ever wanted to do anything more than a 10K and then my friend got me working up to a half and from half to marathon and then another friend who has MS wanted to do 35miles for charity and i wanted to support her so i did that and from that someone else wanted to do 40 so i thought if i can do 35 i can do 40 and if i can do 40 i can do 47.

It kinda just escalates haha i have a good group of friends in the run club that helps.

Did my first race of 2022 yesterday, the Anglezarke Amble, it was 24 trail but me and my friend added the extra 2.2 miles as a warm up on to make it a Marathon because why not! Haha

I've done one trail before in Warrington and it was flat, this race was not flat at all! Atleast 3 or 4 good hills with 3700ft elevation, wind blowing an absolute gail up at the tops. Took us just under 6 hours!
