Any runners here?

Respect, I have done a few RatRace Coast to Coasts but nothing that tough.
yeah, not having done anything like that either, it was certainly daunting.
and SO tough at 8/10 miles in on day two was horrible, but, having pushed on and got to the aid station and stuffed by face, the rest of it was surprisingly ok. would very much recommend it.

Completed my longest run to date at the weekend. The Lap Windermere, 47 miles, it was really hilly and very steep in places, we all had a grest time though
so presumably you're doing the reverse lap in September as well?! ;):p:eek:

Morning Team, looking at the new Garmin Forerunner 255...has anyone else splashed out yet? Never had a fitness watch but started running daily in May. Looking at spec seem to get kit of features for money. Battery life significantly better to other models as well. I'd be getting one for me and one for Mrs...

Yes it’s a great entry level watch that is more than capable for 99% of peoples needs.

Thanks @Mike Dean that's two ordered.... A 46mm and 41mm with music. I like the piece and quiet when running! Hopefully sort orders out quicker than T6.1.... Estimated dispatch 1 to 2 weeks!

how're you getting on with the @255's @ChrisBell ??
Hi @Trouts getting on good with my 255. (need to set up my Mrs one for her still as had forgotten to take on hols, very easy to get up and going). First garmin or GPS watch so very impressed. Easy to use and only charged twice since started using 2 weeks ago. It did sense an increased heart rate and suggested I take big breathes and relax once.... I was chasing 2 year old round telly tubbies show at alton towers at the time! Will start running again soon... For now enjoying watch! Good on you for 55K! Would love to see what 255 suggested if I tackled that!

did this at the weekend...
(the 55k version. which was more than enough given the ridiculous weather, far to warm...)

I did the Ultra-X 50K at Mytholmroyd at the weekend, it was rather warm! Was talking to my friend yesterday about doing the 100K Lakeland Trail next year, how was the 55k?

yeah i felt for anyone running in that at the weekend, normally i wouldn't bother in that heat but y'know, when somethings booked...

yeah, it was really good, though I probably would have enjoyed it more but for the heat obviously.
the route was excellent, nothing too challenging (ie. no scrambling) and took me to some beautiful perts of the Lakes i'd not been to.
- yeah the 100k would be next level stuff for me. not sure i'd enjoy that so much. mind you, it'd be a bit cooler at that time! :p

how was the Ultra-X??
(so many of these things going on!!)

Ultra X was quite quiet in all honesty about 200 people total accross half, 50K and 100K. the feed stations were quite good as well. lovely views around the yorkshire hills.

I had recently done the Lap around Windermere in May which took us up some lovely hills in the lakes as well.

glad you're getting on with it - they're very good bits of kit, certainly more capable than me! :p

Meant to ask here.... I had been doing painting first thing before work during heatwave! My step count was going through roof, realised my garmin forerunner 255 was counting steps as I was slapping paint on slats! Is this normal, hindsight should've taken watch off or swapped wrist
