Buying youngest a new car - advice please

Both my XC90's went past 200k with nothing beyond servicing, tyres and brakes. My 2005 mk1 C70 only has 40k, so will definitely outlast me.

Our ex XC60 was pretty average to be fair. Several electrical gremlins. A leak from the windscreen bonding (common issue) and went through springs on a regular basis. Dreadful auto box too. Great headlights (if only the T6 were the same!), comfy seats and a cracking 5 pot engine. Don’t miss it at all. Also had a 460 (IIRC) decades ago. Reliable, sofa like seats but not much else to say about it. Always fancied an 850 T5R turbo nutter barsteward though!

Nice one. Did you get a discount?
No hehe he spent extra on extended warranty.

Is that the youngest or the other guy that wanted to view it ?

If its your youngest then he can grow a better beard than me at waayy more than double his age .

I hope he's a happy bunny .
Youngest is 19 on the right. The dealer on the left thought we were mates and that youngest was about 30!!

If it reassures you, we are on our 6th Volvo currently, apart from routine servicing we've never had any repairs required, nothing!
(one I bought at 100K and sold at 200K miles!)
Of course, that's just my experience, maybe we've been lucky, others may vary!
I've had 3 XC70s our first (P2 era) is still going and is just about to break 250K if it passes the MOT next week. The other 2 (one P2 and one P3) bought as the "nicer" car to eventually replace it were not as good - the P2 had not been looked after and was a dog the P3 was great but lockdown happened and then we swapped it for the Caravelle.

Thanks everyone for the kind advice and feedback. Having only had experience of during lessons and then his test a year and a half ago, he drove it home on Friday behind me through 4pm Leeds/Bradford rush hour traffic. He said when we get home he wanted to have a look over it etc. but when we got home he decided he wanted to go out and see his mates and we didn't see him til late late. On Saturday as promised (because I was at work) he drove it to my garage in the morning for a quick check of the brakes and all is well. I got home from work yesterday and he is no where to be seen... He's gone to Sunderland to see his GF for four days! He'll be doing Europe next week at this rate hehe
