Camp Food -- All Day Breakfast --

Controversial this one . . .

its like marmite, you either love it - or hate it.

me personally i love it.

its great for camping as its tinned, has a long life, easy to cook . . . its brilliant beer munchies food - alongside the classic pot noodle.

Takes me back to the 90's and South London when I was an innocent probationer in the Met. Had to do a 3 month postings as the custody jailer and one of the tasks was to fetch or make the prisoners meals. One breakfast was the microwaved all day breakfast which was dog shite.
The evening meal was provided by the canteen on the top floor (quaintly known as South Norwood Rooftop Restaurant).
The journey down to the cells in the lift was interrupted by CID, Dog Section, Rats getting in the lift and helping themselves to whatever it was I was carrying, chips burgers etc....I lost about 50% on average !!

In the Fire Brigade we had all day breakfast hot cans for on the fire ground if we were there for long periods, they were not really any use as they didn’t state they took over an hour to heat up. Well one day on Eston Hills we tried them 90mins and barely warm to the touch. We couldn’t risk them in the appliance on the way back so stashed them safely on site, 2 hours later you guessed it long walk to to a grass fire at our previous picnic, nothing was said but the hot cans were never tried again by my shift.

Stealth camping…

Used the following on a recent trip to Europe when we passed through Belgium… apparently no wild camping. Left the pop top down and used these to partition off the cab. If anyone looks in then they cannot see through to the back of the van and it is light proof… handy to have.

Been using this method since got our camper. We also use Magic Whiteboard Magic Blackout Blind (cut to shape) on all windows past the driving area. 100% light block.

They are over a year old now and still stick well (stored under pop top bed when not in use)

We just park up in any village or car park, and we have a few times parked right outside a police station. Never had "the knock"

Might be a silly q, but I'll ask anyways... how have you attached the blackout blind to the tension rods? (can you post a pic of your set up - we're going through Belgium in a few weeks so this could be handy) :)

We made our own black-out blinds and sowed a channel to slide the pole in. We also added/sowed some velcro along the sides that stick to the carpeting along the pillars.

There is no such thing as a "silly question" it's only silly if you don't ask.

Or you keep asking the same question :)

I bought a remnant of thickish black curtain material from Dunelm - my Mrs cut and sewed it into the right shape and I fixed some press studs to it with the 'female' half screwed to the underside of the pop top hatch cover. Works a treat but we've never used it for real!

I use an old mop handle. I modified the end and it now hooks into the clothes/jacket hooks on the B pillar. It does let light through at the top as it's not totally at the top, just very near it. but it stops nearly all the light and importantly also lets a bit of air flow through if I leave the front windows down a touch under the deflectors

I use some blackout material just draped over it. Nothing sewed, nothing permanent, works great!

I hung the material over the rod. It’s proximity to the closed pop top roof kept it in place. The blind I bought, linked above, comes with Velcro stickers which I attached to the van and the material - this held it in place at the sides.

Had a night in Dorset , the Minster Polar screen cover was covered in frost by the morning, the inside of the window no condensation no ice.
We also plugged in a heated blanket that worked a treat
