Carista tweaks

I’ve enabled the horn to work while the ignition is off on my 18 plate through Carista, however it doesn’t, anyone else had issues with this?
So done a debug report and emailed to support @ Carista, they confirmed there’s no bug in the software it’s my specific vechile!!!.

They’ve apologised, because I purchased the Carista from Amazon they are giving me a full refund

i thought ignition OFF would mean BCM and LIN bus (to mfsw) would time out and go to sleep?


out of interest, why would you like the horn to work without ignition?

One very good reason.....
Last week sat in Tesco’s car park waiting for the mrs, ignition off and playing on my phone,when a p***k in 4 x 4 squeezed past my van and hit my mirror and drove off,first reaction was to slam on the horn!!!

VCDS And Carista Fault Codes

I noticed with Carista that it resorts to google to search the fault codes and ironically we seem to get most of the search results pointing at this forum but the codes are just appearing in conversations mentioning those codes so I thought we should create a topic and list the common ones as...

Any assistance appreciated in finding out what error code 27078 (carista reading) means? 2017 T6 150 showing engine warning light engine running fine.

Is that from the engine? Which warning light - emission (yellow submarine) or engine fault (flashing coil)?
Unfortunately nothing (no such code) for 27078 - actually not in any T6 control module.
Possibly Carista extracts/associates the codes somehow differently than other tools - their own way?
Has the engine got software update (updated between January 2019 and today)?

Thanks. Software up dated this rear February and ok since then. It is the constant engine light illuminated. Carista only shows as engine fault code 27078. May have to phone VW if they are working but really appreciate your effort. Many thanks.

Sorry for drifting off topic but this reminds me of a quick story with my wife.
Good few years ago she phone called me and she says "there is one warning light ON!"
I said "okay, what colour is it?"
she replied "yellow"
so I asked obvious question "what kind of icon is it"
and she replied "flower pot with exclamation mark inside"

Now it is your turn to figure it out

Time to connect up the dash cam to leisure battery to enable parking mode!

Another thought. In the Carista there is a subfunction "ECU info" - what's in there about the engine? Also interested to see what's the software revision you got - just for my records.

The two main things I wanted to do were, disable the stop/start and turn off the annoying beep when you open the tailgate.
None of these options were available on the T6, even though they are available on my Tiguan of the same registration year.

None of these options were available on the T6, even though they are available on my Tiguan of the same registration year.

Contact them through the app mate,and ask them can they add it to The customisations ....they Are helpful and will let you know if it is possible?

Tiguan is much more advanced, t6 electronics are relatively old and somethings are not possible with vcds/carista

No, unfortunately not. You’ll need VCDS or something similar.

I should also add that there are often members in here with VCDS who are happy to help with simple tasks like this. Might be worth asking the question to see if anyone can help you out.
