Covid-19: How is it affecting you?

Reminds me of the Red Dwarf episode with the talk about supplies and dogs milk,

The current situation sorta reminds me of the Blackadder episode and how we might be in a few months time:

Captain Blackadder : Baldrick, fix us some coffee will you? And try to make it taste slightly less like mud this time.
Private Baldrick : Not easy I'm afraid, Captain.
Captain Blackadder : Why's this?
Private Baldrick : Cos it is mud. We ran out of coffee 13 months ago.
Captain Blackadder : So every time I've drunk your coffee since, I have in fact been drinking hot mud?
Private Baldrick : With sugar.
Captain Blackadder : [sardonically] Which of course makes all the difference.
Private Baldrick : Well, it would do if we had any sugar, but unfortunately we ran out New Year's Eve 1915. Since when, I've been using sugar substitute.
Captain Blackadder : Which is?
Private Baldrick : Dandruff.
Captain Blackadder : [sarcastically] Brilliant!
Private Baldrick : Still, I could add some milk this time. Well, saliva.
Captain Blackadder : [holding up his hand in refusal] No! Thank you, Baldrick. Call me Mr Picky, but I think I'll pass

Me took early retirement (redundancy at 59) now 62..but I’m ex forces and been involved in many a crisis..dustman fireman prison strikes at 17 was at Cannock chase firefighting ...1976... so I’ve seen some bad stuff. But one thing has always got me is our own resilience to carry on ...it’s never selfish to admit your worried after all the thread does say how it effects you..we all moan and grone , take the p.ss and use humerus quips..but after all if we can’t laugh together and empathise with each other ...how sad we could become......we can reflect on life and say what if...but having read your comments the overall feeling is ....we value the things that we may have taken for granted and see things now in a new light.....that’s a good thing:thumbsup:

Yes....we haven’t gone to war and many of our loved ones are on the front line, doing the best in a difficult situation . Many of you are Key workers helping to keep this country going.....I say thank you

Stay safe and keep doing what ever you do:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

@tintim the "chocolate sprinkles" were witheld as the last frame of that episode. Classic and hilarious.
I see we have some like minded people here... Awesome

Hey @Jess hang in there. Take your time, do a little more than you would if you were rushing to get out. Ask lots of questions, theres loads of stuff going cheap and advice is always free, from some real experts.
Post pictures and look forward to your new adventures.

Tonight we have setup a group to help the local community. The Friday night group brewery run will ensure people have essential access the good beer without having to risk leaving the house, it’s especially important now pubs are officially closed.

The only problem is that I may have consumed most of this weeks stash already!

Well after 2 weeks of paternity leave I've been told to work from home next week. On reflection after many years of considering earning more money working for myself, at times like this i'm thankful i stuck with the employee status and all the benefits it brings.

Rebellion and the Malt Brewery in Bucks are doing drive through.

I work in Education (IT Support) so our role is about to be tested from a remote angle instead of onsite. My boss was worrying about this a while ago and we took the p that he was stock piling an extra bag of food in his garage. I did an online order at the end of Feb, pasta/loo roll etc and glad I did.

I’m financially ok, I am unsure if I have job security but what a I do know is I can get through this. I feel for the people who, live hand to mouth, rent everything and may not have a job.

stay Strong, stay positive, don’t give up.
