Dc-dc charger question

Did you buy them seperately then? We haven't had Isolated versions since the beginning of the year?

it was late last year early this year , time has flown by
i bought a 240v victron smart charger and some sargent plugs
the dc-dc charger and a XL cable kit all at the same time
as i am not electrically biased the "isolated version meant little to me , as i said
earlier , i read Dellmassive ,s review and then added a second earth and all was well

but purchased . . . oct 2019

so had the isolated version . . . . not an issue, just add the second ground (caught us out too . . . lol)

Yes, that was all that was available initially but as soon as I learned that they were doing a non isolated version it made more sense for us van types

On that subject then, in what situation would you use either type? Isolated/non-isolated

I’m going to run one in a new works van (Crafter) so interested in the difference?

You would use the isolated version on a boat where the hull cannot be used as an earth return because of galvanic corrosion.
