Equipment - must have / useful / can't do without items

Go on a trip and you’ll work out what you need. I think it’s better that way than fill your van with half of decathlon and then work out what you really don’t need.

The type of trip you’re on will dictate what you need, so other than absolute basics, it’s hard to make (or take) solid recommendations.

Better than getting stuck in it I suppose. Not really a conversation I’d like to have in A&E…
@t0mb0. I suspect that the average A&E doctor has had conversations about some weirder things that 4 pint milk containers getting stuck!

Every trip we take less and yes we tailor what we take to the trip. Now at two awnings two tables, two sets of chairs, etc

Taking our newly converted T6 out for the first time in a coupe of weeks, any must haves?
Would suggest going for a night somewhere before taking extended trip as you would see what you need and also don’t really use.
it means if the bed is more uncomfortable than anticipated, it is only one night and you can delve into the many different ways to add comfort.

Patience and understanding with the other half (and kids if you have them).

It's a small space to live in and experience will tell you what you need, until then play it by ear and be prepared to learn.

We've only been doing it for forty three years and still learning!

Made me laugh out loud!
“Doctor, I was just having a wee and lost my balance….honest!”
@JOG. I suspect that the fabric conditioner bottle would be pretty close to normal for A&E compared to some of the stuff that they see stuck on and / or inserted into a human body on the average shift!

Packets of ketchup, mayo, etc for tip. Can opener. Woollen hat for head. decent pillows, a simple torch for night Time exertions to Jacks. mobile chargers, buy ones especially to leave in van. Eye shades incase of shitty curtins which let the light in ...
Jump leads, or booster. And a rain coat!
Edited... a good book.

What you don’t need is kids getting isolated after covid contact at school!

Light: Torches. Head torches are useful. Something to light the outside when you're cooking/relaxing/drinking beer.
Heat: If you don't have a diesel heater you need an alternative. A fan heater or oil filled radiator are good but you'll need to be on EHU to enjoy those during the colder times. Thermal blinds/covers.
Beer.
Comfort: Comfortable deckchair. Duvet. Pillows/cushions. Mattress.
Insects: UV Bug zapper (most important)
More heat: Pop top insulation cover. (during the colder times)
More beer.

Porta Potti
Decent rubber headed mallet (If you have an awning)
Decent tent pegs for the awning. (If you have one)
25m EHU cable

Entertainment: Music, movies internet.
Outside cooking: Don't stink the van out, Cadac have many solutions.
Wet gear and towels for when/if it chucks it down.
