Juat wondering if the @HiLo Roofs grey canvas lets in more light than the standard black or if its light ingress is the same. Also the heat effect between the two colours in summer.

I have a grey one and it does let some light through, but unfortunately never experienced sleeping under a black one to compare. I think the light is passing through the tiny holes that would be there in any canvas though, not sure how much the colour affects it. So after all that waffle I'm no help, sorry.

we have a grey one too (not hilo, not possible to install in switz) - light comes through as andys says the little holes, not more help here either im afraid..
