FitCamX Dashcam (power from rain sensor)

It's a doddle! Take your time and don't force anything - if it doesn't just pop off don't force it (that's how I break things...!)

Some good pics come with it and there's an install video floating around on their website.
Great thanks.

Started to fit mine today, I have the camera fitted and the hardwire kit down to my leisure battery as well as the rear cable through to the tailgate. Just need to wait on a relay for a switched 12v ignition feed and refit all my trim the actual camera was a 5 minute job! I found a picture of the standard trim which shows you where to push to separate them.

Tried to fit mine today. All going well only to find they sent me the wrong part!! Is the T6.1 trim around the mirror different to the T6? Awaiting email response from China.

I’ve ended up putting the rear here, I wanted it at the top but without drilling a hole there doesn’t seem to be a nice way to get the cable out. This enables you to still remove the trim and is just in an area cleaned by the wiper it’s also not too obvious from the outside.

Anyone managed to find a better spot?

I really like the idea but I've got the lane guidance/sign recognition camera as well and not sure from the pictures of that's an option for the 6.1?

Was thinking of getting one of these but the reviews on some sites aren't that promising (discounting the 'oh i didn't know it didn't have gps' reviews). How is everyone getting on with them?

They do fit with the lane guidance/sign recognition camera. They sent me the wrong housing - correct one is now being posted foc.

Ordered one of these yesterday thanks for the "miller10" code

Had a confirmation email early this morning asking for details and a photo, then had another email later confirming I'd ordered the right part and it is being shipped.

I hate the look of the standard dash cams so this integrated one is a no brainer.

Managed to complete mine now, ran the hardwire kit down to the leisure battery (passenger side) there is just enough cable in the kit.

I made up a loom to take the engine run feed from the standard leisure battery relay and fed that into a delay relay to provide the ignition feed.

Is this because you don't have a rain sensor ? just wondering why you've had to hard wire it to leisure battery

Because I want to use the parking mode on the highly sensitive setting, it also often sits for quite some time, so I try and keep as much as possible away from the main battery. BTW it works really well a light tap on the windows is all it takes to start recording.

I also prefer to keep any 3rd party electrics away from the factory wiring, nothing wrong with using them it’s just a personal preference and as I needed to route the rear camera cable decided I may as well do the power cables at the same time.

It also means I have 2 x new fuses in the factory fuse box under the passenger seat specifically for the dash camera.

Ah I see , I did see it had parking mode didn't know you had to order extra cables

I think it would also work off the rain sensor as that provides both feed’s
Looks like on their diagrams that you do get all the cables and it looks like you have to use the hardwired cables if you want parking mode. I'll check when it arrives

Fitted mine now with the correct housing to the rain sensor using there splitter loom. However I now have a message “automatic headlamp fault” Indeed the auto headlamp function has stopped working. I have unplugged the camera and the auto headlamp works again. I’m thinking a hard wire would be a better plan. Has anyone used their hardwire kit? Where is the closest switched live?

That's odd why is yours white the one I ordered for my t6.1 has a black casing.

Has anyone else fitted one of these with auto lights and got it working okay ? Mine won't be here for a few days so I can't tell if mine will work yet

Is your trim around the mirror black or off white? I sent a pic them of my trim and then ordered. Initially they sent completely the wrong housing and eventually the correct one came which I then had to swap over the internals.
I’m thinking just to go hard wired maybe to the interior light pod where I hope to find switched live.

I just pulled mine across the headliner and down the B pillar after wrapping it in some anti rattle tape. There is a huge gap between the roof and headliner so no need to remove it, I just poked through some old plastic fuel line I had, then I pulled the plastic trim from the B pillar and went into the fusebox that’s there for my factory leisure battery / towing pack. It wasn’t a big job at all.

Mines all black
