[Guide] How To Retrofit MFSW And Cruise Control To T6 Eu6 2019 Startline - Also Hacking DSG Paddles For CCS

Ok. Do you know if you have city braking?

In 03 Brakes module one of the bytes you can select if you have CCS fitted. Usually iirc you don't have to code this but if you have city braking you may have to failing that check connections and fuses

Yes I believe I have city braking, I will do this once I get home. I Will update once completed, thanks!

@Dav-Tec okay tried to edit brakes module to be met with a completely blank module. The first page states in red writing only limited coding information is available for this control module

All wiring appears correct minus one part which I’m now unsure on from having a read over the entire thread again, hopefully someone can clear this up,

My pin 36 in bcm was empty, should I of still used this pin (I have) or should I of spliced onto pin 17 due to pin 36 not being in use?

A scan in plain text would be helpful.

(1) You do have a decent battery charger to keep voltage at decent level?

(2) Can you clear the faults in address 13? And then try the engine coding.

(3) Have you tried to enter Security Access code (possibly 20103) first - does it accept the code - and then do the engine's CC coding?

(4) Have you tried different coding in engine, e.g. Trailer installed - byte 5 bit 4 to see if it's accepted? Or possibly replace byte 4 current value 43 with C3 (to add yet another water pump) - just to see if different byte for engine's internals is accepted.

Sorry mate. Not sure why I said 03 brakes. I was chatting crap there I should of said 13 which is the brake assist sensor.

@mmi Apologies, I have managed to attach a clearer report.

1 - I havnt charged the battery however I’ve been out in the van today (my mind telling me this would charge it) would you still recommend to get some charge into the battery?

2 - I believe I have done this

3 - I have attempted this yes, still no avail.

4 - also tried this as suggested, still faced with the same error code

Going back to my previous post, is my pin okay in bcm 36 if this pin was empty? Or do I have to splice, ie pin 17?

@Dav-Tec - had a look in this module, however I can’t seem to see anything in relation to cruise control

I believe it's worth to eliminate any issues because of low voltage - it can create funny things when a module is in programming mode.
Is the engine software a factory one or a modified (remapped)?

I think for the cruise on MFSW it indeed should be pin 36 (white connector) . Anyways, I wouldn't expect things on BCM side to affect on engine coding.

Also the BCM has recognized the MFSW:
Code:
   Subsystem 3 - Part No SW: 7E0 959 442 HW: 7E0 959 442 Labels: 3C8-959-537.CLB
   Component: E221__MFL-DC1 H02 0103
   Serial number: 29170002422090027441
   Coding: B0FFFF

I will charge up and follow up once I’ve done this,

The engine is standard, however I will be getting a remap done in the near future.

Okay great, I’m beginning to think maybe my cable is to old, it was purchased from another user so could be quite old. It’s a hex - v2.

Is this following fault usually due to low battery? As I can’t seem to shift it! 1 Fault Found:
04194 - Vehicle Status with Under-Voltage
002 - Lower Limit Exceeded
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01100010
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 72
Mileage: 60131 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2022.07.09
Time: 08:43:12

Yes 100% you need to wire pin 36

Let's try to test the cable.

VCDS > Applications > Controller Channel Map

Tick the boxes as below.

Click Go

VCDS flashes screens for a moment (when finished hit "Done, Go Back") and there should be files adpmap-01... and blockmap-01-... in folder C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs\....

Please post the files.

@Dav-Tec, thanks this has resolved the under voltage fault.

@mmi i have attached files requested, I have tried to code engine again now with no faults to still be met with the same error code.

Thanks - as far as I understand the cable should be capable of doing the coding. Actually the core of the test was to verify the cable is capable of creating the adpmap and blockmap files - old cables fail on this.
Puzzled here!

@mmi - as am I, ideally I could do with someone else local with VCDS to try there’s out. I can’t seem to figure out the cause of error 22

Definitely worth to try.

Meanwhile - may be far fetched but anyways - on the coding screen just before clicking "Do it!" where both current coding and new coding can be seen - can you verify the new coding is as it's supposed to be (e.g. not messed by Long coding helper). Perhaps a screenshot.

A bit desperate I know.... but error 22 could also be a result of wrong code.

@mmi hoorah! Managed to get the engine module to accept the code, It can only be done with the engine not running.

Now to further fault codes on the cruise system, hopefully these are straight forward to rectify, I’ve tried to clear before and after a drive to no avail

Have you got the airbag wiring loom pinned correctly?

Hi everybody, I'm an italian owner of a 2018-EU6-Petrol engine-Multivan and I have had the bad idea to retrofit the original wheel to a MFSW :(
I have done everything correct concerning the wiring following the original VW diagram, but now I'm fighting for the coding.
My technician has only a VAS-6051E that doesn't allow to put on/off ticks on different bit so the only way to proceed is fill-in directly the binary codes for each byte.
Is there some volunteer that can share the screenshots of byte-bit coding for ECU01 and BCM09 ? (As far as I know only: Byte 09-15-17-29 on BCM and Byte 05 on ECU are the interesting ones).
Thanks in advance for the help.
