H4 To H7 Upgrade

Wauw..

I can believe the ones who have changed the DRL's while in the car.. that must have been a nightmare.

I already found it to be a pretty precise job while they were in my hands on the couch. The Twenty20 DRLs are also quite a lot bigger and therefor harder to insert as well.

When you know how it is done it is quickly done (outside of the car). But that's with everything I guess.

Good thing is that you can see inside the socket and know which way around to put the DRL in. What you can do is look very good at how you pull out the previous one and put it back the same way.

Ps;
I Found my DRL's flikkering a bit while the car was running (in only ignition they were ok), but in both cases only 1 lamp was attached. Is that to be expected?

Here I am again, not 1 year later. Both Twenty20 are dying. Getting bulb error and de right bulb is flickering on its last breath. Not looking forward to swap them....

Any other experiences here? Alternative bulbs? Can I just have bad luck?

Thanks, can you share which exactly? If I remember correctly, you had to code the bulb error out on the dash?

I think I will take off the bumper.. probably quicker ...

Are you sure it is the bulbs?

Do you have the original DRL holders or the later F/G revision H7s?

And they are in:
Build in 2019, revision "F" headlights.

Very good condition

But, my TSI has an issue with one of its inlet valves, it seems to not close properly... So the joy of buying these is .. well lost. Looking at a revision of the head.

Happy that i didnt buy the THQ LEDs at the moment

Yep, see quote/pictures above, 100% sure they are the F variants.

I assume this then can't be the issue... But i might be wrong?

Thats what i thought... I have ask the supplier if there is a warranty possible. Since I plan taking of the entire bumper which is less frustrating then trying to peel out the bulbs and putting them in. Would be nice if I could do it all at once, bumper off, try normal bulbs, if right put in the new ones.

While installing 9 months ago I noticed that my led drl bulbs were flickering when ignition was on. When motor turned on, everything was fine. Until now.

Managed to get nearly 4 years out of mine but was hoping for 10

It's not too difficult to replace the OS lamp, just remove the airbox, but just be careful when you pull out the holder otherwise the bulb falls into the light unit!
According to Classic Car LED's these bulbs shouldn't be used in DRL due to them burning out so I'm also looking for a more reliable alternative.

I would sign for a couple of years... I dont know why mine are dying.

If I hear most of you talking, I wouldn't mind using them again...
