Has anyone ever regretted buying their van?

What you have done is probably still cheaper than trying every magic, coloured spring on the planet other than Zebedees

It was certainly cheaper for me, given that VW paid for it! Long story, involving a mis-specced van, months of dispute and me having them over a barrel...!

I get your question here. I had a moment like this shortly after buying my T5.1 really doubted if I had made the right choice. An awful lot of money for what it was and 2 months in I had a cambelt failure! An extra 2k later and I still wasn’t sure. It’s also been sat on my drive a lot more than I hoped for but the longer I own it the more I love it. I now more than ever enjoy taking it out for a drive even if it’s only for a short trip to get out fishing etc. I think you will grow to love it!

Snow today and I used the 4Motion for the first time to get out my road and to get into works road. Note to self, must look up the diff lock thing and finally look into what it does and how to and when to use it.

I’ve owned a t5.1 140 and now a T6. Love everything about them other than I wish it had the mpg of my missus 150bhp golf sv. She regularly gets 55-58 mpg it’s a van though. I’m ok with getting 35mpg.
Oh the other thing I don’t like, tw@s that park right next to with no room and door bang my lovely van or that squeeze down the sides leaving scratches on the paint.
Everything else I like notably higher POV, all the toys on my version make it so nice to drive.

speaking of reasons. My old one was for MTB transport and changing. This one is for kid transport and camping transport. We don’t sleep in it but we have a lot of camping gear so need the space to carry it. Tried the trailer for a bit but the kids hated being cramped and we like the VW van lifestyle.

I never thought of transporting the kids in the trailer when they were younger...too late now.!;)

We bought our T6 Danbury Surf King last July and like many of you questioned the expenditure, however we did it and had 3 long weekend trips away in it confirming we had done the right thing. I use my van as I did my car before, general pleasure, shopping, days out etc. I love driving it with its high seating position I can see a lot of what I missed when driving my car even though that was a 4x4 the van is a fair bit higher. Then Covid came along, my van now sits of the driveway hooked up to the mains with a small electric oil radiator for company. I am retired and sure that soon this miserable time will end and we can all get back to what we love "using our vehicles" No regrets.

I know what you mean about the higher seats, it’s good to see over other traffic and hedges. If everybody follows the rules  we might get some use out of our campervans by the Autumn. Unfortunately much of the population has the self discipline of a pig farm at feeding time.

...If everybody follows the rules...
Judging by some of the behaviour that I've witnessed so far, there's no chance whatsoever of that happening. The country seems to have a minority of extremely selfish tossers who will ruin it for the rest of us. I suspect that will remain the case until some pretty severe penalties are enforced as the current deterrents just don't seem to be working.

I don’t agree. Even pigs have more sense!

But our young are just following the examples set by government advisers, SAGE committee members, celebrities, Football stars, Love Island contestants.......the list goes on. If these people with high profiles set such examples how do they think the public will react.
I'm not defending lockdown idiots, I'm just saying those with influence should use it the right way.

Where I live I’m surrounded by medical staff, Doctors and Nurses also breaking restrictions because they justify it by ’I’m tested regularly’, very convenient. They seem to choose to ignore the fact that they catch, spread the virus and that they are breaking the law.
