My Reflex Silver Project

Oh and another little tip - you might not have voice control on your infotainment. That does not matter for android auto. If you press the voice button on the right of the steering wheel briefly you'll get a message pop up that it's not activated.

However if you press and hold for a few seconds with AA connected, it'll bypass this and bring up the voice control within android auto, which is basically "OK Google" which lets you control a whole host of things via voice, like navigating to somewhere, answering text or what's messages, etc etc.

I found that by accident just haha. Long pressed it and heard the Google sound. Such a transformation

Never knew that - I'll have to try that tomorrow.

Yeah it's bloody brilliant. Music control too, asking Spotify to play something. Adding stops to your journey, mid journey without having to pull over to enter the details in, asking what the weather is at your destination...

Ah that makes sense. Appreciate all the advice, it's all new to me. Thanks bud
This forum is great for advice.... And spending money! I also didn't know these existed. Recently my android auto has stopped working. Either phone or perhaps latest updates so will give the Motorola boyo a shot!

My usb is on the side of the radio. He had to change the usb module to the iPod version. My original one works on Android, but wanted it to be accessible for other devices too.

I don't think I have the secondary one, as my glove box is the van-x one
The Van-X glovebox should have come with a cutout and a cover - you can place the OEM USB+Aux module in the cutout (like @TallPaul_S’) and then use the cover for where the hole in the dash is.

Probably the cable. Android auto can be very finicky with what cables will work and sometimes they just stop working.

FYI my adapter is the Motorola MA1

But there's other options - the MA1 was the original.

So... @TallPaul_S I think you're right about cable. Was perfect then stopped. Now... The MA1 is a total game changer! Managed to hook up in less than 5s. Some piece of kit. No more cable reflecting in windscreen or forgetting phone as plugged in and having to run back for it!

Yeah it's brilliant. It'd been on my list to buy for ages but after driving a new caddy courtesy van with wireless android auto I got one bought straight away!

Another little update (with another coming before the weekend)

I wanted to add some colour to the front end, so I decided on painting the lower plastics, that was until the middle bit decided not to come off.....

I then went to VeeDubs and bought a new set of blue ones.....

But me being me, I ordered some paint on eBay

And fitted!

I'm not happy with the fitment on right. When I ordered these gloss black lower grills from van style, they arrived with that piece hanging off.

Now today's mod may not be to everyone's taste, but I thought I'd give it a go.

I seen this originally on a caddy, and quite liked it.

Total cost - £8.94p from Temu.

5m flat one sided led light (cuts to size)

Although this looks pink, it's actually purple, but my phone can't seem to capture the true colour.

Simply wired to the step light, and tucked (perfectly) into the rubber around door.

After 2 weeks away in Mexico, I've arrived back (jet lagged like crazy) to some parcels.

Nothing major, 1st up, some led sequential side repeaters from Transporter HQ
