My Reflex Silver Project

So, a long awaited update :mexican wave:

On the 22nd September, I posted that I had removed the old kitchen unit, as I had planned a new kitchen install

The van sat like this for a few weeks while I decided which kitchen to get. I then began tidying the 12v wiring up, fitting the victron xs and mains battery charger and other bits. I made sure all cables came out in one central point to match the measurements of the kitchen I ordered.

I then drove to Bradford to Lusso Campers for one of their bespoke kitchen units, complimented with a solid oak worktop and table, wardrobe at back and overhead cupboard in a dark hacienda wood finish. I went for evo locks and had a spice rack/door over the fridge for more storage options

But.....the unit was terrible! Worst fitment I've ever seen...honestly!

Naturally, I complained....and got nowhere. So, i left a negative Google review, this got the managers attention. After a few choice words, I was given a £200 refund, making the cost of the kitchen £1,250.00.

Next, was flooring. I already had altro flooring in the van, with a sparkle effect. As the new kitchen was dark, I wasn't happy with this. A friend of mine owns a flooring company, so he kindly offered to fit me some herringbone karndean flooring for the van. My van went off and came back later that day with the flooring done

Now, the kitchen. My cousin is a carpenter, so me and him got together one cold October morning and started to make the best of the poor fitting. I then had a nightmare with the control panel, as again, it didn't fit. I had to use a spare piece of wood provided with the kitchen to cut a new piece to size. I fitted my new cbe switch module plates and got it ready.

I then tested all the lights which I installed in each cupboard and under the overhead locker with a diffused cover for the led strip before the panel went in.

I bought a gas locker (which didn't fit) so sold that on, it was at this point I could almost scream. I sold the original smev 9222 LH sink as that wouldn't fit my new unit, so bought the same but with rh sink. I also had to sell my fridge as it didn't fit the new kitchen :mad: . I went for the apicool cr50x in black. I also had my other mate varnish the worktop and table in OSMO Oil in matt finish.

So Tonight, after almost 2 months of blood, sweat and genuine tears....the kitchen is finished!

Things I've learned from this experience?

1) DON'T Buy a kitchen from Lusso Campers!
2) DON'T Buy a gas locker without measuring...
3) DON'T tell your mrs "it'll only take 5 minites"

Think that's about it!

Hi
Where is your table from please ?
Thanks
Bob

Update 22/2/25

Yesterday, my mrs went to collect the new captain seat from Streamline Auto Beds. We had it matched to the original trim we had done in May 2024.

The interior now looks like this with two captain seat, and a new walk through mat (ignore dirty step)

I also wanted to finish the interior with something special. As most of you will know, I had my original steering wheel retrimmed in may 2024 in nappa leather and purple trim. Initially I was happy with this as my wheel went

This week, I spotted this for sale, and just HAD to have it. Mrs didn't understand the need for it, but i told her it's more of a want than a need.

A lovely T6 flat bottom carbon steering wheel, brand new never used. The guy I got it from had it sat in a box.

Also got some coaster off little @JOG junior

Back in May, I fitted an EHU point on the outside of the van. When doing so, the jigsaw snagged on the insulation and bounced, putting a dent on the rear 1/4.....it's bugged me ever since.

Today, I decided to do something about it.

New water inlet all plumbed in to a spare 10L water bottle

Had to make the best out of a bad situation early.

Back in October I mentioned that my kitchen. From lasso campers was nothing short of shit!

Cut by Stevie wonder, signed off by Ray Charles sort of craftsmanship

Potentially the last update for the van (saving for a wedding amongst other things)

Since my ownership in April 2024, I've slowly been updating the bulbs to LED. I've converted every bulb including

* Interior (map light, step light, courtesy light)
* fog lights
* rear lights
* reg plate lights
* rear brake high level light

Last was headlights.

I had already changed my headlights from the H4 units to the H7 units, but still wasn't happy. I waited almost a year for THQ to release their LED version, but got fed up of waiting. That's when I seen @Pewt post his on Instagram.

Purchased on 18th March, arrived Today....
