New van project

Ok so a slight change of plan, im still going to continue with my own build but because my woodwork skills are horrific, I've got myself a U shaped set up. I've already made some small changes to it, i couldnt get the toilet into the front cupboard so had that made bigger and I've cut the base boards into individual pieces so i can lift each one.

Bit more work today, took alot longer than expected sorting the diesel heater pipe, it had ripped due to it being exposed in the van fo so long so had to pull it out and cut the damage out then put it back in again. But once that was done i made a cover out of the seat-base trim as didn't need it and then tidied up the wiring61246FAD-1A99-48D7-8EE0-F88A1FDA5950.jpeg9DB0E06A-9D02-4B59-B103-A6C68AD42937.jpeg097AF307-1AA9-46DB-8952-086CD6BB040C.jpegD9EE0960-C1D4-4928-8083-2F7345F48909.jpeg9ED80299-161B-4185-B2DD-B4A2E1D82FB9.jpeg

Even more done today, the ambient light is a bit too bright at moment so will need to look for a resistor to dim it down abit.

I've got the other side of the ambient light to fit along with my shelves which have ambient lights in but i need help with the shelves as not sure how to attach them to the van.

The other light is now done

I then started carpeting the seat bases however i have ran into an issue, the additional carpet makes it alot thicker and now they dont sit on the supports correctly, so they need trimming down a bit.

This is looking great - definitely made the right decision buying the cabinetry. Like you my woodworking skills are not that good and I have resigned myself to having to cover it in carpeting or get someone else to make it

Yeah i did, its a shame i couldnt find a convertor willing to take on my frame especially when atleast 3 of them advertised “bespoke” work. One of them had even clad a frame exactly like mine previously!

Looking great - are you mixing brass and steel hinges or a trick of the light?

1 is steel as it was just lying around, i tried getting all steel but the hardware shop didnt have any. Wont see them once the cushions are on top of them.

I plan on cutting the rear centre seatbase as currently it doesn't lift like the others.

Got most my cushions back today, the trimmer kept the back pieces and back bottom cushion as the wood on the rear and the seat foam needed trimming down to fit neatly and the long side piece on passenger you could see backing material in the corner near the sliding door so he is stitching in a piece of the front material to make it neater and look better!
