Oh am not to sure , it’s ok but we will see .only difference is front end everything else is Ford. Think vw are offering a 5 years warranty too as far as I was told. We will see if they sell well or not.like everything else that’s new to the market everything for it will be expensive.

I saw one of the new fords the other day and apart from the badge that looks identical, if anything not as agressive/fancy at the front.

Cheers

Toby

Yeah Ford stamped parts on them too. Not for the purists I don’t think anyone with a t6 will be to bothered,

My mate a while back bought a jag and would show off about how posh it was ...everything we unbolted from it had a ford oval on it ....we 'might' have taken the piss just a little . :slow rofl:
Twas lovingly known as the mondeo from then on .
I think everyone will see that rear quarter and instantly assume it's a transit regardless of the badge on it .

VW don't give a sheet about the purists. They care about plumbers, builders, other tradesmen (or women) who want a van and who might be tempted to pay the extra over the Transit to gain the 5 year warranty and 5 years free servicing.

The amount of units they shift to the likes of us "lifestyle" users is insignificant, nowhere near enough for them to care. Commercially speaking we are of practically no significance to them, so I can't bring myself to knock them for following the money.

Agree with this, but as its the same van now, and arguably, the Ford is better looking, probably better equipped and less money I can see VW's sales taking a hit. Why would tradesmen most of whom are not interested in the van buy the VW?

As above - free 5 years servicing, and 5 year warranty which is two more than the Ford.

I'm hearing from an associate who works in the trade (at a BMW dealer, but they've a VW franchise on the same site) that they're starting to shift very well and buyers are citing the warranty and servicing as their motivation.

If you're leasing, who cares, but if your in it for the longer haul and buying and writing it off against tax on the company then the extra asking price is of less significance, depending on turnover and the annual tax bill maybe even beneficial, and the servicing and warranty are potentially very reassuring, partially with Fords wet belt rep.

I can see the big fleet buyers sticking to the Ford, they care about the up front cost and little else, but smaller businesses, sole traders, etc, have a good business case for spending the little extra, and recouping that against tax anyway. For a lot of small buinessfolk the tax situation makes the extra expense revenue-neutral, so there's no reason not to choose the option with the extra servicing and warranty.
