HI FUNNY ENOUGHT I WAS JUST LOOKING AT EURO CAR PARTS THEY GOT THE SAME OIL AS I HAVE SO WHAT YOU SAID WAS RIGHT IT WAS ABOUT 60 POUNDS IN THERE FOR 4 LITRES .THERE IS ANOTHER VW PARTS PLACE BUT CANT FIND IT BIT LIKE TPS OR SOMETHING I HAVE BOUGHT STUFF FROM THEM BEFORE THE OIL SEEMS TO COST THE MOST I WAS HOPEING VW WOULD AD LET IOT GO IF ID PAID THE 360 PLUS VAT FOR SERVICE ID PAID IT TO GET WARRENTY BACK BUT THERES NO POINT IF THEY WONT SO IL GO DOWN THE CHEAPER ROUTE AND PAY ABOUT 160 OR SO THANKS FOR YOUR HELP STEVE

The warranty is now nul and void for the engine unless you suddenly find another receipt for an oil change that was carried out in the middle of last year
The reason the lady at VW says the warranty is void is because the oil degrades with use (molecular breakdown and contamination) and should anything fail in the engine, the warranty department would just attribute that to the oil being used longer than the recommended mileage. Any premature wear that could have happened in the engine due to not changing the oil to the schedule cannot be rectified by doing an earlier oil change afterwards.

Hi just had oil change reminder pop up, but it seams too early for me, i last changed oil 12,000 miles ago (6 months) I tho it would be more like 20k what do you think please?
I'd just do it, oil change cost is not much compared to value of the van, or worse, cost of a new turbo.
12,000 miles seems pretty fair to me, I change mine every 10K but that's a year for me.
Mine is on the extended flexible servicing, but I still change the oil & filter every 10k miles regardless of what it’s asking for.
If the MFD is repeatedly displaying oil changes which seem premature, then I'd get an oil sample but change the oil immediately anyway. Analysis is a good tool to check out if you have a problem which will only end in tears after warranties have expired, unless you monitor what is going on and have robust evidence of a problem.
Who quoted you that price?
I've just paid £240 for a service (£95 + parts + VAT) on our T6 2.0 TDI which comprised oil and oil/cabin/fuel filters (not air, as I had fitted a washable Pipercross filter) from an independent, so depending on what your service consists of, will determine whether it is reasonable and what the diagnostic will cost.
