Phillips H4 LED bulbs, any T6 reviews?

Whilst it is up to others what they wish to do, it is worth the voice of caution as well as reason, as otherwise they could go ahead blind to the implications, and I hate the I'm all right Jack, sod everyone else attitude of some modders.. All mods should be done with careful thought to their effects.. Oh and I don't mind playing Devils advocate..

Same here :D

I've had a bit more of a look into it, these aren't legal here either :(

The Phillips 130+ were the only ADR complaint set i could find so i got them a while back, i just saw these and got excited before seeing if they met the Australian design rules.

Dave, australia has some of toughest car regs in the world, (ADR's) these were only really brought in to protect the local car makers.

The cars we mis out on due to European standards not meeting ADR's stupid rules is insane, I'm hoping now that the local car manufacturing is almost finished that Australia starts to accept just EU standards.

Still they aren't legal but they are sold here, fines and insurance will be an issue with these fitted.

The annoying thing is that we have a cheap honda jazz/vibe that we use as a city roundabout and that has led headlights.

VW should be suppling a headlight that puts out a decent amount of light:mad:

I've looked at them too and was hoping to find someone with them. I did find a younger Mr Putin lookalike on youtube who seems to like them
Seems the best option for the T6 crappy lights?

Apart from the legality issue, isn’t the main problem with the H4s the reflector pattern?

I’m not sure, So do you think that the bulb matched with the poor H4 refelectors wont make much of a difference? If they actually put brighter light in the dull orange patch my H4 bulbs did I would be happy.

that russian states a 260% improvement.

but then again, two standard candles would have more light than the factory H4's

Yeah I’ve seen the display/off road use only. I’m tempted As well but a little concerned about bulb error warnings as they are LED. I guess a resistor would sort that though.

I would also have to get a second set of light covers that protect the bulbs because these have the heat sink on them and those covers would require modding.

Having just watched that video another concern of mine was output pattern but it looked sharp in that video with a nice cut off.

I have a head torch that is brighter than the standard lights. It's a waiting game then to see who cracks first and tests a set. Of course I'd only use them off road anyhow  .

off course you would only use them off road, so would i

Tempting but quite a few comments on beam pattern being uneven - so likely to be car specific.

So then peeps. Has anyone taken the leap and installed the pre mentioned Philips X-treme leds yet? I tried some completely bonkers ones off amazon and they were no way going to sneak onto the road. It was like the messiah was coming down the driveway.
