Retrofitting powered Tailgate

The 6F tailgate module needs to go at the back of the van in the rear lights area. Thinking about it, I chose to put mine on the passenger side but if I'd put it on the drivers side I probably wouldn't need to have extended the can wires. Just lay it out in the van see which works best.

Just tested mine again with the dash button and it doesn’t release properly if on a slight hill.

Anyone got any tips? I’ve played with adjusting the easy pull close mechanism.

If you use your hand to press the button on the actual tailgate you lift it a tiny bit and all works well.

Anyone got the installation doc for the Kufatec tailgate loom?
The pdf on their site is limited to 8 pages and requires login creds to access full guide.
I purchased mine through Tunning fanatics DE but don't seem to have received the Kufatec site login details.
Have mailed them but was hoping to finish the install this weekend.

Turns out kufatec don't support tuning fanatics as a reseller and also won't provide manuals. Tuning fanatics said they'd send the full manual but been few weeks not, several mails and nada!

T6 wiring diagram helped anyway so no biggie. Just few more questions @Deaky pls..

- Does the cable for each ram route via the plus near the rear clusters, or top of the new tailgate? Otherwise kufatec loom looks by it short.
- The single thin white wire on the kufatec loom ays light on, is there a specific wire I should tap into?
- As per diagram in first few posts, I purchased the retainer bracket for the module, but any ideas where this attaches as can't see a single place in either rear quarter that this fits? (I'm trying driver side btw, to avoid extending wires) Same with buzzer, don't see two small locator holes on either side.

The cable for the rams comes out from behind the light cluster

I can’t remember what that white is for, maybe the boot courtesy light. DM me your email and I’ll send you the kufatec instructions

Oooh new kid on the block, not seen that kit!
Me neither but they have been around a while, there is a video in FB but I don’t have an Account.

This is the way I will be going I think, let someone else do the leg work with the hardware etc.

I can fit it easily.

Looks slick, compared to Hanshow which is slower than factory -
Main reason I went factory is to get the Kufatec kit to work with PDC, and fact my boot lid as a pretty fat dip from kids pressing on it to close lid. (I.e. Needs spray job as dent folks couldn't get it out anyway!)
Might be tempted if their unit supports PDC & kick gesture thingy :)

I am thinking I will get this kit next month. Air Suspension sorted this month first via @Dav-Tec first.

Hi all.
Some progress here.
Electrics - all done and working nicely. Soft latch works well. Remote key works fine too.
Two alterations to factory setup have been done:

1. I don't think it's fair to the front passenger to have the tailgate open button in the drivers door.
Laser engraving on the differential lock button and here we are:

2. I used the drivers door button kit to add another tailgate open button in the luggage compartment.

This will serve 2 purposes - kids can open the tailgate from the back seat and I will be able to open the tailgate from the bed for a nice view in the morning.

I also promised to share the part number for the rubber seal. Here it is: 7E0841790.
It is really required in my view - water goes in during the caar wash and snow/ice gets in as well. I will be getting one soon. It comes with self-adhesive tape.
Meanwhile, here you can see how it is installed: Установка уплотнителя ляды — Volkswagen Transporter, 2.0 liter, 2013 year on DRIVE2

The mechanical part is not over yet :-(
The drives keep snapping out from the ball joints and they are also making loud noises during operation. I think I will need to buy the new drives.
Hey @eugene can you pls share what dash button you used for the tailgate ^ ?
I'd assumed all these buttons have an IC coded with a specific CAN function, so would need to remap?

And where d'you get the thing etched?

Confirmed, no PDC integration.

I wonder if the tailgate module or PDC module require some sort of parameterisation in order to work. I've spent hours studying wiring diagrams and coding from factory vans and been unable to get PDC integration to work. :(

Sorry, I just noticed this question.
Diff lock button: 7E0941435EWHS
The connector for this can be used from any of the dash buttons (slight cutting required). e.g.
4D0971636
8W0971636D

Unfortunately, I don't know how the button was coded - if I need to look this up in VCDS - let me know. The people who installed all these buttons for me (another one in the trunk) spent a lot of time on it and asked me to never come to them for any mods again. :)

Etching can be done at any laser engraver place. Just take off the cap, sand it to white, spray paint with black and bring to engravers. They will do the rest.
