Rust around the window!

My 2016 T6 had a conversion by the previous owner about 1 year ago.

A new window was fitted on the kitchen side and there is now a bit of rust on the bottom edge of the bodywork, it looks like the conversion company never sealed the metal up after cutting into the panel van.

I’ve got no plans to go back to the conversion company as I’ve found hundreds of things they’ve done badly, so my options are great the rust, paint it and then seal it correctly or get the window removed, get the rust sorted, get the paint sorted and get the window fitted properly. Any advice ?

I’ll be happy to let anyone know who the conversion company is via PM if you want to know who to avoid.

Personally I would feel that the second option is the only one that ensures you can be totally sure that you’ve got all of the rust dealt with (that none is hiding on the window edge behind the rubber).

Thanks fir the reply, the right way is often the best way, more expensive too.

Next question is - are there any trusted conversion companies anyone can vouch for near Manchester / Glossop areas?
