all good . . .

now for the real world testing . .

we have the 1000w Renogy inverter in the van, but looking to swap out for the 2000W version we have.

the Renogy 100ah would only run 1000w inverter . . . . no we have the extra power and current capacity to swap over.

Question for peeps with solar panels on the roof: How are you routing your wiring up and through the roof?

I've got a large panel to go on my rack, and have a waterproof bulkhead connector ready, but i'm unsure where to drill through the roof and up which pillar to run the wiring?

@Oceanis . looking good.

I think you will be better starting your own build thread for your van.

To get specific help and info on your setup.

This thread is more for general ideas and pics of what people have done.

Start your own build thread here:.

.

Start your thread and post a link here.... I'll then move your posts above over to your new thread.

Seat Base Electric + EHU + Solar Install + Charger + DC-DC -- How We Done it --

id like to build a thread showing what's possible as regards to seat base builds.

lets post a collection of our electrical installs, be it in the seat base or rear conversion.

just EHU or SCR/VSR, charger, DC-DC etc etc

Or Full on Solar setup . . . . Anything goes.

The idea is to inspire people and share some great ideas, tips and tricks.

I've seen some excellent installs across various threads on here . . . . . id like to bring them together here . . . . .

This info is great and thanks for sharing your knowledge & all the other owners also, I learned so much good stuff from this forum cheers...I'm coming from a T4 background, having build full on camper from scratch, including split relay & LB.
My new T6.1 is being squared up for same build but just in planning stages ATM. So, where do I get my live feed from to feed the LB system ?
Under my double seat there's a large red cable will this suffice and what connector do I need to attach please ?

question for the electric knowledgeable on here: i can put my victron mppt under the seat next to the battery but it'd be brilliant for me space wise to put it under the passanger seat (id put it on the nearest side of the seatbase so the cable is as short as possible..).. is this a big no no and must be as near to the battery as possible?

@Dellmassive ? others?

Not a problem @scotia just make sure you use a decent gauge of wire from the MPPT to the battery to reduce voltage drop. A lot of us have used this set up as it gets crowded under the seat where the LB is located.

as above - no problem.

thanks guys, I've got some 10mm2 or some 16mm2, was going to use one of those. Cable will be less than 1m.

Had a bit of an update to my underseat setup

100ah Renogy LiFePo4
Victron Orion 12-12-30 DC-DC charger
Victron Bluesolar 75/15 MPPT charger
OEM and new leisure circuit fuses relocated into a new fuse box with a bank of relays for switching circuits

Just down the side of the battery is a Victron Smart Shunt and a Votronic stand by charger to keep the starter battery topped up, controlled by the load output of the solar charger

Under the bonnet is a small CU for switching a charger for the leisure and starter batteries, there is no 240v in my van.

Theres a 4a Victron bluesmart charger hidden behind the starter battery

And a 15a Victron bluesmart charger fitted under the scuttle panel to charge the leisure battery
