StevieBoy Build Thread

So a lots happened since the last post.

Van is back with us - roof and windows fitted, solar panel on roof and upper wiring loom all fitted.

Since then we have done the following:-

Wiring loom fitted from starter battery to Clayton unit - still needs final connections.
Clayton mounted on a board and secured to side of van.
Electric hook up mounting plate designed, cut, modified and re-cut and fitted where towing eye was mounted.
Electric hook up cable run through to underside of vehicle ready to wire up.

Ordered the following:-
Victron Energy Electric Hook up socket
Funkyleisure C channel rail
JustKampers internal thermal blind set
Wild Earth sun canopy
Sikaflex adhesive sealant
Propex underslung gas tank

So its a long weekend and three main jobs to complete

Mounting the gas tank, filler, and BBQ point
Modify C rail and fit under pop top
Wire up the electric hook up.

Quick update

Wiring to starter battery connected, tested and operational

Gas tank and BBQ point all fitted, filled and now operational
C rail fitted to roof. Had to re stick the rear end due to not prepping the rail bottom for the sika flex
Electric hook up is fitted, tested and working

Also mocked up my electrics, so 2 240V sockets fitted, plus 12v cigarette lighter socket, and 12v usb socket.
Lights fitted into pop top cutouts.

Van packed ready for the coming weekends first expedition in it.
Sleeping on a futon mattress with a topper on it.

Will be a good test and see where we want things when we finally get the bed and kitchen sorted out.

Just ordered cables and connectors to wire the solar panel into the Clayton unit. Will be able to go properly off grid then.

Big work on the van this weekend.

Carpeted out both sides. Ran out of time to finish the little piece at the front of the pop top.
Temporary door card made from the roof liner that we saved when the pop top was fitted to house the electrics on a more tidy way.

Pleased with the result. Thanks for the solder iron tip for making holes in the carpet. @lebb2017 from your build thread

We even made a little carpeted shelf to give us some storage area until the kitchen gets fitted.
