T6.1 new order delays

Two questions.

Has anyone ordered a van from the West Yorkshire van centre?

Any sign of it yet?
Mine is on order from WYVC but ordered for March, I have spoken with Matt a couple of times and he confirmed then problems they are having. I will ask again in the new year!

What’s the average time line of van built to being collected from the van centre if everything runs smoothly?

Dealer told me on 21st October mine was built so it will be just over 3 weeks by time it arrives.
@rover220, how long did you wait from order to build?
I’m 1 month since my order went in. Despite knowing it’s 12+ months, I’m already getting impatient!!

@RFD

I ordered 08.04.21 (Kombi 150 DSG Highline with some extras)

Built during week starting: 11.10.2022

Delivered to dealer: 10.11.2021

Pick up: next Wednesday
Thanks. I’ve ordered a SWB 150 Highline Kombi but manual. Few extras as well. Maybe it won’t be 12 months after all!

It would be great to see it by the end of July as we have a family road trip to France planned! That would be 10 months from order to delivery… what are my chances?!?

Slim, I fear!

Tale of Woe from Down Under. I thought I would jump in on this thread to let you know how things are with the delivery of T6.1s in Australia. I ordered my T6.1 4 Motion LWB in Nov 2020. I ordered it through a reputable camper van conversion company who offered a great discount on the price of the actual van because they are a major customer of VW Australia. It was due in April 2021. In Feb 2021 the company informed me the van was delayed to July 2021. In July they informed me it was delayed till Jan 2022. Last week they informed me that VW Germany had significant delays with the transporter due to the shortage of that "famous electronic chip" and that there was now no confirmed date! The company was very apologetic. VW is talking about giving customers a tracking number from the factory for their orders. I have changed my Long Service Leave from April 2022 to Nov 2022 but even this may not suffice! I was starting to get so despondent that I considered buying a second hand transporter and getting it converted. HA! There were only seven T6.1s available in Australia, all of them were SWB and Front Hand Drive and all sold within 5 mins of being advertised. There are a number of T6s available but the prices being asked are actually more than the discounted price for the T6.1 offered to me by the company! They also do not have any of the options I want. That is the current state of second hand cars in Australia. Previous models are selling second hand for more than $10,000.00 higher than the order for current models, especially for any 4x4 or leisure vehicles. People in Australia are itching to "go bush" when border restrictions (possibly) lift in Dec. So if you are actually getting a confirmed date "over there" and are concerned of a slight delay think of us down under! As an afterthought, I have to wonder if the T7 will be being sold in Europe by the time we get the T6.1 here!

Don't despair, I am from Down under and ordered mine in December 2020.
Told June than maybe November and than Feb 21. Last week I went into my dealership just for a chat and was told it is built and should be on the boat at the end of this month. Mine is also a 4 motion with high spec.
I didn't think I would be as excited as I was with the good news.
Most dealers are pulling their heir out with the delays. I bet yours will be built soon, so hang in their.

ordered middle of july thanks to a tip off on this thread, managed to get on a build already in the system and tweaked a few options so i have done well.
We were the same. After years up dreaming of upgrading our old van, we finally decided to go for it in July, did the deal and our van is just starting to be converted now. Hoping for an early December delivery.

I went to my local dealership yesterday, excited to put down a deposit for a T28 lwb HL PV, and join the long wait, but stalled when I was told that delivery date is now up to June 2023… with 3 further price hikes by the time I’d get it! :(

Are they saying you'd have to pay those price hikes? Surely you'd be locked into whatever deal you sign?
Which dealer was it?
