T6.1 new order delays

Are they saying you'd have to pay those price hikes? Surely you'd be locked into whatever deal you sign?
Which dealer was it?
Apparently so. He could have been just trying to lock me into a poor discount (will price protect for 4%), but said he’s going to have to call ~450 customers to let them know that they’ll be paying more…
I’m going to call around a load more dealerships on Monday - happy to travel for a better deal.

I'd check in with Autoebid. I think their discount is still around 11% and the van is delivered directly from a dealer, that you deal with direct, to your home.
I checked with two local dealers, Swansea and Cardiff but neither could match Autoebid. Cardiff were the closest of the two but were still several hundred pounds more expensive. The price I agreed with Autoebid is honoured and there have been two increases since I place my order. Probably a few more by the time my Kombi arrives.
Definitely worth having a nose elsewhere.

Oh, that’s really good to know, thanks. It’s the Swansea one that I went to, it’s just up the road from me. Yeh I checked Autoebid yesterday, they were still finding good discount, but I was expecting them to say without price protection. You’ve given me more hope again, thanks :)

Be very surprised if the dealer didn’t have any price increases passed on to them covered in the contract you signed. Mine certainly has this clause.

Def worth ringing around a lot, as you’ll be amazed at how much variation there can in what dealers are prepared to do on discounts. Don’t assume they are all the same, as they most definitely aren’t. My local dealer just wasn’t prepared to try hard enough, so ended us using one 140 miles away.

Try giving Mark Elliott at Heritage VW vans in Bristol a call. He sorted me out with a great deal, and also delivered it direct to the converter for me.

Oxford VW van center Didcot where i got mine from excellent service from order to delivery, had it four weeks now still buzzing!!!!

We were the same. After years up dreaming of upgrading our old van, we finally decided to go for it in July, did the deal and our van is just starting to be converted now. Hoping for an early December delivery.
Same here as well. Ordered a LWB 4motion 450 Transporter, with a lot of options, in March 21. Original delivery was for November 21. Then that was pushed back to Feb 22. Then pushed to June 22. Latest is August 22. No choice but to wait unfortunately!

Great, thanks. Yes I’ll try a few places today. I’m off this week, so determined to put some time in and get a deposit down. I wouldn’t have minded traveling to pick up, but even better if they deliver :)

Can’t believe that will hang around long. Ideal factory spec for a camper

Just received this from my dealer in regards to my order I placed back in March.

My Head of Business has just returned from a meeting with Brand.
As dealers we are given an allocation each month and orders are placed based on age of order , however due to some build constraints eg , options, age of order is sometimes ignored by the factory . They have advised us today due to allocation constraints that it is likely that your van will not be built until June next year however this could move forward considerably depending on parts supply and as such it's not really possible to say where in a queue you are, it could also move backwards . In addition to this they have advised that any vehicles that are not deliverable by the end of quarter one next year will have the price protection removed and the new prices effective December 1st will become effective in all cases .

I am fuming. Will lose a summer of holidays in it and I’ll have to pay a lot more.
How the hell are people getting their vans that were ordered after me?

That is crazy, whilst I am sure that the small print covers them doing that I don’t see how it is right when you ordered in good time and the delay is through no fault of yours. I have been waiting 14 months and through two price rises but there has never been talk of any change to the pricing agreed at time of order.

I would have a word with your dealer

I was led to believe that price increases were March onwards  maybe your dealer is moving the goal posts in their favour

Thats insane.. if you are like me, and they have had a £1000 of your cash as a deposit since order date, surely they can’t just do that. Its a disgrace. I’m gonna go into my dealer tomorrow and see whats what, I’ll let you know what they say.
