I can see why the bigger tank is standard - Oz is one vast country - but why the camera I wonder. Are cameras standard across the market, or is it just VW that doesn't rate your countrymen's reversing skills?
Im not sure, I've been thinking about removing it but then on second thought im just being impatient. Also probably more complicated than its worth with price etc! new date of 1st week in April but who knows!Do you know if it's the tow-bar itself that's causing the delay, or the prep for the tow-bar?
Not just the price to consider - if you change the order after receiving a build date, you'll lose your place in the queue (according to my dealer).Im not sure, I've been thinking about removing it but then on second thought im just being impatient. Tomato / Tomata - if you've ordered a van with a tow-bar and VW are prioritising tow-bar stock for others' vans, then the tow-bar is causing you a delay. No?All that is crap, all the Sportlines have Towbar prep as standard. You can buy a westfalia Towbar no problem at all.
It’s just they are not prioritising your van, other markets / variants are more important.
Nice van!Well I can safely say it was worth the 9 month wait, I feel lucky to have had a (relatively) transparent experience with order and delivery process after stalking this thread since April last year. Was originally given a Q1 delivery estimate which turned out to be bang on as it arrived at the dealers on 15 Feb and I picked up on Saturday (despite Eunice doing her best to stop me!)! Tried not to hassle the dealership too much and to be fair they were great. It did go in for a build week in Nov 21 which got my hopes up but that was swiftly changed to Jan 22 which managed to stick. Build to delivery was slightly quicker than the expected 4 weeks too. Going by other posts I think my timeline was helped due to the relatively simple spec...
6.1 T30 Kombi SWB 2.0 TDI 150 Highline DSG
Deep Pearl Black
1+1 in front both with swivel
2+1 in back
Leatherette
Only purchases so far are rugs for bugs mats and Inka waterproof covers for back seats (dog and 8 month old!). Going to slow time convert myself with sound dead, insul, carpet, leisure batt and with something similar to a forty winks kombi bed. Should keep me busy this year at least.
Hang in there guys that are getting tired of waiting, you'll forgot all about it when you pick your van up.
