T6.1 new order delays

Are the current orders actually 12-14 months, been quoted for the same configure code from 2 different VW van centres £11k difference and 10% deposit or £500 (cheapest van is £500). Really cant VW have a cost equation....

Have a look at autoebid. Good on price. Nobody really knows how long new vans are going to take, but I reckon 12 months is likely.

I'd agree with that, although probably 12 months regardless of where ordered from or who ordered through (unless you're picking up an "in-flight" order).

After ordering my 4 motion 199 in Dec 2020 it is on it's way and I should see it in April.
I am in Australia so it's a long boat trip. Had a long list of accessories added so that didn't
help. As soon as it arrives I can empty my work shop with all the bits I got to fit to it.
Also will be contacting Steve CRS about shocks. What are people lowering height wise with 18" wheels? I am thinking 50-55mm.
Nice, good news for you! I bet you can’t wait now, congrat.

FYI Mines about 50mm lower than standard, on 8.5 x 17’s with 235/65 tyres. For me its perfect; comfortable, no rubbing or bumps on lock or over speed bumps etc. Steve @CRS Performance fitter his KW coilover kit. Can highly recommend it and his advice.

I would absolutely check with your conversion company re the weight issues.

I'll be checking with my converter...
Visited my convertor at the NEC this week. Raised the issue with him re weight issues for electric tailgates. Other than potential issues with tailgate-mounted bike racks (which I'm not intending to have), he had no concerns that insulation/window blinds would cause a weight issue for the struts. He said they'd converted dozens and never seen a problem or had a problem reported to them.

I can see why the bigger tank is standard - Oz is one vast country - but why the camera I wonder. Are cameras standard across the market, or is it just VW that doesn't rate your countrymen's reversing skills? ;)
Haha I don’t disagree , some over here can’t drive forward in a straight line !

Just read that VW have halted production in two plants in Germany due to the Ukraine situation. The commercial plant in Poland wasn’t mentioned but I get a feeling we could be in for even more delays, ar5e

It was finally collection day today a mere 347 days after ordering. Didn’t go without a hitch though. Turned up a day late after I had made the 320 mile trip up from Cornwall. Then they couldn’t put any fuel in as local garages had run out due to idiots panic buying. They had to syphon some out of the van I traded in!!
It has now been driven straight to Chris at The Van Cave to work his magic! Got to wait another week now before collection day number 2.
Hang in there chaps. Your time will come!

347 days, you've done well! Van looks lovely

I'm 385 days deep and have no build date....:(

The news about the factories isn't going to help either.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, my van has turned up and will be registered on 1st March where it will be made to look stunning by @BognorMotors. I'm booked in with the converters for late March and the plan is for me to undertake the electrical installation alongside the converters working their magic.
Found out yesterday that I unexpectedly need major surgery on my spine and could be out of action for months! Pi55ed off beyond words! Looks like I may have to postpone my electrical install and camper conversation for many more months if my surgery date comes through before early April!
At least I'll have a new unmolested van if I need to change my conversion plans from a camper to a disability vehicle with a wheelchair ramp! :slow rofl:

I spoke with JCB sittingbourne this morning, and they said the factory closure should no effect anything. I asked about my order and I was told that it has a ''Required date of 01/07/22'' my van is quite a high spec panel van. Also they said Kombi's were a year wait and Sportlines were 18 months.

Ordered my Sportline from JCB in Sittingbourne last June. Hope it’s not going to be 18 months! They told me should be a month or two away.
