T6.1 new order delays

I ordered my van and told them my lease van is going back on April 2nd 2022.
On my invoice it also states required March 2022

Ahh, right - so that's a date VW have been given by you, rather than a date supplied by VW(?)

Any idea if that makes a jot of difference to VW when they're scheduling builds? (I'm guessing not)

Just jumping in here guys with some info from a line of work I'm doing. The whole automotive and high tech manufacturing industry is currently experiencing massive issues with procurement and in particular electrical components. For one product I know a certain element used to be £1.50, company I am working for secured 2000Nr at cost of £19.00 each... Latest price £48.00 each. And this is only one element on a list of 1000s of components! COVID has a lot to answer for! Decommits is a relatively new term, however, in my line of work (planning) is making forecasting dates very very difficult! I also have a contact who worked with jaguar landrover with their infotainment systems.... Exact same issues I understand! Just last week BMW mini shut production line for week, all linked I am afraid!

I asked who allocated the ''required date'' and he said VW not them, also he checked ''PR codes'' (whatever they are) and said my van had no conflicts, my assumption is that ''PR'' codes maybe either production or procurement codes. He intimated that NO codes was what we are looking for, so the optimist in me thinks that because there were no conflicts that the required date should be at worst a very slow moving backward date that the dealer is expecting the van. But hey I am an optimist, and recognise that none of this means anything until I have 4 sets of keys in my grubby little mits.

Just read that VW have halted production in two plants in Germany due to the Ukraine situation. The commercial plant in Poland wasn’t mentioned but I get a feeling we could be in for even more delays, ar5e
Aye, well my 2018 Skoda Superb had a made in Ukraine label attached to the tailgate wiring harness.
Interesting to note where VAG stuff is sourced from.

Apparently.

Germany's Volkswagen said it would halt production for a few days at two German factories after a delay in getting parts made in Ukraine.

From your source: "The supply chain shortage will affect factories in Dresden and Zwickau..."

Both these factories build electric vehicles, so Transporter production shouldn't be affected by this (as previously noted by @StueyStuey in post #2,521).

Main stealer told me Transporters are assembled in Hannover, Germany and Poznan in Poland.

The VIN on my new T6.1 indicates it was assembled in Poznan.

Has anyone had more info on price increases and when it comes into effect . If so how much more is it adding onto there vans , I am approaching the 8month since ordering with no build date but know people are much more than that .

Nope.

My Kombi was 3rd on the list to be built (sometime in February) when I chatted in January, but no mention at all of price increase. JCB Ashford.

Check the T&C’s on the rear of your quote/invoice. It says on there about price increases.

Yes, I've read the small print.

I was referring to the loss of price protection at the end of March - which is a thing apparently. Although, I've not been informed of this as of yet.

I'm still hoping that the van arrives before this.

Had confirmation that my sportline will not be arriving before my year end (31/03) meaning it will no doubt be subject to the new price  I was going to ask about the price increases but decided to stick my head in a bucket of sand:rofl: JCB Ashford

Still can’t believe a massive corporation like VW can’t give anyone an exact build date.
Surely they know what stock each factory has and work out how many vans they have to build and work it out from there!
Especially as everything is computerised in the massive hi-tech factories.
Bloody joke really

They don’t know what stock they have/will have due to global shortages.
That’s at the heart of the issue for all manufacturers.

It's so frustrating!

They may not have all the parts for my van and build others instead. With that approach my van might never arrive!

Just had confirmation that my June ordered Caravelle is built and be here in a month - here’s hoping it’s all ok

can start to buy some upgrades now
Hi Purdster, was that June 2021 ordered? And congratulations.
