T6.1 new order delays

...a well worded email and or a phone call to VW Customer service would be my advice
Do you have their email address Oli? I've tried googling this, but VW seem to prefer contact via social media channels (and this forum is about as social as I get :D)

Just when I thought I wouldn't hear anything for some time my prov build week has come back to week 18 (may 2nd)...thats about the 5th prov. build week I've had and it will be a year on Thursday since ordering. VW dangling the carrot again....I wonder what will happen next?!

Does anyone know the position regarding assembly plant closures in Germany for the Transporter? Customer care at VW seem clueless. Thanks.

Hi Jordanb12, I ordered mine in Feb 21, a Highline SWB Kombi 150 DSG with 10 additions. At point of order I was told September delivery, well, that has come and gone and then some.

The first provisional build date I was given, was week 31. The dealer “Listers” have kept me updated, but when they call it’s only bad news about the delay. I speak to them the last week of each month and it’s the same conversation, “ your vehicle has been included in our monthly build allocation, we’ll have to see if VW have included it in theirs”.

This has been going on since November. I have written confirmation of price protection from the dealer, so in the grand scheme I won’t have salt rubbed in the wound, but I’m still in the same position as I was last year.

Apparently the microprocessors aren’t an issue anymore. I was told last week there is a shortage of the following;
Removable Towbars
Cassette windows (Kombi)
Parking Sensors
Power latching on all doors

Vehicles that don’t have the above parts are being built first and as a result the vehicles waiting to be built are pushed to the back of the line. I have the above additions, at this rate my vehicle may never be built.

Watching the reveal of the new ID Buzz, it goes on sale in May for delivery in August.
How is that possible!!!!

I waited sooo long, I can’t see any point in cancelling and having to wait for another vehicle.
Thanks for that. My order includes parking sensors and a removable towbar. No one at VW has bothered to let me know any specifics at all.

I don't think they know. I was at Liverpool VW on Tuesday and the sales exec says he spends all his time on the phone apologising for delays to van deliveries.

Its my anniversary today! Or should I say a year today I placed my order - no confirmed build date - no explanation - no anniversary card - no van - no idea when!:waving:

Hi all. I ordered my kombi in June 21 and just had confirmed build date! At last. Week 8. A bit gutted I didn’t add swivel seats on the front as I had been thinking about it but it’s too late now *♂️. Anyone had experience of the factory swivels. Have I missed out? It’s only a kombi just thought it would be handy.
Factory swivels are good. I have driven both. Wish I had them on my van.

It's my anniversary on Tuesday. Like you no build date, no info of any sort. Apart from the monthly still no news email.

For those who ordered a year ago...what kind of specs? Mines a 204 4M PV LWB DSG with 22 options including the dreaded removable tow bar!

Mines 204 4M LWB DSG Kombi. With tow bar and 2 sliders all with power latching. Also heated seats and diff lock.

Happy anniversary to everyone haha . I had a call yesterday about my kombi July order , Was told not to expect a build date or any information until my anniversary now (at the earliest ). No info on the price increase as they will only have the information once build date issued . Dealer did say they would do what they can to absorb any increase but the price would go up , I can make a descsion closer to the time if want to proceed or cancel , but in mean time will get the pennies saved and see how much it goes up by.

Had been hoping for a 22plate which has clearly gone but think am now aiming for a 72plate.

My brother works for large Ford dealership and has a few delivery vans that are going for MOT's , He says they have never MOT'd there delivery vans in the last 14years they are always sold on and they get new ones after 2 years but they have 4 on order and just can't get them . Thats a ford main dealer . I know slightly off subject but its not just VW.

Today I got a bland letter from customer services offering an apology for delays and how valued I was as a customer. They still mention semi-conductor shortages and the conflict in the Ukraine for some parts. They close with an assurance that they are doing their best. No information about whether the assembly plants are open or when they are likely to open in the future.

#MeToo

I notice they don't mention the withdrawal of price protection!

Yes I got one of those letters too today, a day after my anniversary coincidentally!
Taken VW a year to put something in writing explaining the situation!
I might write to Cian. :waving:
