T6.1 new order delays

Okay, I see where you're coming from - gazumping. I guess it's a possibility, but what would be the advantage to Autoebid? As an introducer (not a broker) they only get paid when the contract with their client is fulfilled.
Either VW clearly don't care about how they prioritise their builds (to the extent that their system appears a complete sh17 show)....... or...... it suits VW and their Dealers to hide behind ambiguity for their own financial gain. Whether or not Autobid could play a similar game is also questionable.

@VioletVW's build has been such a long wait that I would be surprised if Autobid, the Dealer and thr Factory have been honest and open all the way through the process.

There seems to be a whiff of dishonesty which has come from somewhere in the process.

I agree that VW's build-scheduling is currently a sh17 show and I seriously doubt that they care about anything other than their bottom line.

However, I think high-volume dealers account for a significant proportion of the delays that exceed 12 months. These dealers sacrifice profit margin for sales volume and, for their sales model to work, they need to attract lots of orders. One way of achieving this is to offer the best discounts to AutoeBid customers. The problem with this sales model is that the dealers consistently exceed their van allocation and it is this over-allocation, combined with VW's current woes, that lead to excessive delays.

JCB Ashford is one such high-volume dealer - just count how many on this thread ordered with JCB Ashford, via AutoeBid, and then count how many of those have suffered (are suffering) long delays. There's a lot - myself and @VioletVW included.

Is the high-volume sales model inherently dishonest? I'd say not. When the supply-chain is running smoothly, the customer gets a bigger discount at the risk of a longer lead time. But now, with the supply-chain significantly disrupted and VW having drastically reduced everyone's allocations, the risk/reward ratio is much less favourable. IMO, if there is dishonesty, it's in the lack of transparency (i.e. the customer isn't aware when they order that there's a price to pay for the bigger discount they're getting), which denies informed choice.

I have no problem with transparency with Aquila Trucks. I ordered a MAN TGE last August and was told not to expect to see it before this Summer (2022) and that still seems to be the case. Fingers crossed.

Just sat down with the dealer and he checked the updated build date, poor fella started swearing in Italian and went crosseyed for a minute or two.
then proceeded to tell me it will be a wait of over 16 months and that I’m fortunate to have a locked price (Australian contract)
then looking up at the ceiling muttered something about his other 100 or so customers having to be contacted about the further delays.
I asked him if I could order the T 8.3 hydrogen model he snorted his coffee out of his nose all over the keyboard.
I’m now home pulling out my old extensive collection of western dvds to fill in the time .. the good the bad and the ugly VW get the last two from this one.
On the upside I believe I’m so fortunate to of stuffed my shoulder and require a complete reconstruction tomorrow, the twelve month back to full recovery will be quicker than getting my van
chins up everyone and keep smiling

Obviously the high volume, high discount model is not illegal, but in the current climate they must have been aware of the fact that with limited numbers of vans being built then the chances of them fulfilling customer orders in a reasonable timescale was exceptionally low or zero. This of course was not passed on to any of us and I think that is dishonest.

I've messaged VW complaints too and have only received the initial 'your details are being passed on to a case manager'. Based on Garv's post, I could be waiting sometime for a reply and maybe not at all.

As Samro mentioned, this whole buying a new van has not been what I thought at all. My initial order with a Fleet company (14th August 2020) falling through and then this debacle. And just to put a cherry on the top being hit with a price increase too.

Well, I'm a bit taken aback.
My dealer has rang this morning to say my Sportline LWB Kombi will be ready for collection at the end of next week.
Just had the registration document by e-mail so they can tax it, and according to the dealer no price increase from when I signed the order last March.

Hmm, interesting.

Which dealer is that?

Did they happen to mention why there is no price rise?

Oh, and congratulations!

After Three whole weeks and one day, and now being informed I have bought a Motability vehicle am speechless again...!!
Basically put up, shut up, pay the price rise or walk away as we have plenty of other fools we can hood wink..!!!

Thank you for your email regarding your vehicle order and price increases mentioned, the information you have been provided appears to be conflicting from the Motability Specialist you have been dealing with.

Volkswagen Group is continuing to experience significant price increases connected to the costs of raw materials and energy prices. While Volkswagen Group is taking the best possible countermeasures to minimise the impact of these increases, unfortunately we cannot fully offset these inflationary pressures.

Motability orders placed between 1 October 2021 and 31 December 2021 will be price protected in line with the quarterly offer commitments agreed with Motability, provided they are registered and handed over by 31 March 2022. Answers to frequently asked questions about Motability orders which cannot be built before 31 March 2022 will follow in due course.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide any further information on this, and your contract of sale is with Motability, they should be liaising with the Volkswagen Van Centre the order has been placed from for updates.

As a manufacturer, we are unable to assist you any further on this matter of a price increase, we do not sell vehicles directly to customers, they are sold to our network, who then sell them on for profit. If you do not wish to continue with your order, please speak to your Motability Specialist about your options.

Thank you for contacting Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles UK.

Kind regards

My Reply.......

I really don't understand what is conflicting,
The situation Is just confusing you are telling me one thing and Laura lowdell is telling me another,
Seems like this van was never ordered last year or has never been accepted as an order by VW,
This is the van I ordered please see attached,
Why was my money taken a delivery date of June last year clearly marked on paperwork,
This date has been and gone now apparently after a £4057 price increase the van is in build,
The pandemic and chip shortages were already well known when I placed my van, you should've taken this into account, when giving an erroneous farcical date
You can't even investigate properly, the van is not a mobility van...
It's not a van I've purchased, it's a SHAM!!!!!!

I feel suck reading your repliy above Garv. I'm certain that my query/complaint will have a similar stock response:

'suck it up and pay or jog on'..

Absolute joke.

We had a call off the dealer on the 7th April that it had been built (bit of a surprise), but they expected it could take quite a few more weeks to arrive due to ongoing transport issues. Turns out it’s arrived at the dealers today ready by Wednesday.
When did you place your order out of interest?
